Don’t Say It! Eagles Employee Fired for Comments

    Brian Dawkins

    Oh the power of Facebook.

You never know who’s reading what you write.

One comment cost a longtime Philadelphia Eagles employee his job, when he merely stated how he was feeling at the time.

Dan Leone, a game-day worker at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field was fired after he posted the update, “Dan is (expletive) devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver…Dam Eagles R Retarted!!”

The Eagles fired Leone over the phone, saying the he could not be trusted and the comment made the team look bad.

I wonder if it was the “expletive” that embarrassed the Eagles or that one of their employees was not a very good speller (See “dam and retarted”).

“I could play wide receiver for the Eagles”

    - Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant said after practice on Sunday.

I bet if he had said this on Saturday, Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid would have figured out some way to get him into a Philadelphia uniform. Who wouldn’t like to have a 6′6 wide receiver in their arsenal.

     Chris Clemons

If you didn’t tune into the Philadelphia Eagles/Minnesota Vikings game yesterday, then shame on you. But also if you didn’t, you missed out on perhaps one of the best pancakes I’ve seen all season. Chris Clemons happened to bring the pain to Tarvaris Jackson.

Here is a short clip of why quarterbacks should only throw the ball and try not to tackle or block.

    Jeff Lurie

When you’re caught up in the moment, sometimes you don’t know what you’ll end up doing.

Take for instance, Philadelphia Eagles chairman Jeff Lurie. His way of celebrating his team’s touchdown is to slap his wife in the face.

    High-five!

Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field Serves as Big Brother

Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia Eagles

Sports Memorabilia  NFL Shop  Philadelphia Eagles Gear

If you’re looking to download some porn at Lincoln Financial Field, good luck. Apparently the Philadelphia Eagles’ stadium has strict Internet rules and has a ton of sites that are banned. Well, the strict rules only apply to the press box and why you would want to browse “questionable” sites, I don’t know, but having the option would be nice! Beside adult sites, gambling sites are also banned and more:

Slate, Politico and The Nation are prohibited. Deadspin, Kissing Suzy Kolber and The Big Lead are all banned. Bleeding Green Nation is forbidden, and Top 100 Bloggers (which merely links to a number of blogs) is also off-limits. A few other sites that have been deemed verboten by the Eagles’ manipulation machine: Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Flickr, Google Finance, Gawker and AOL Instant Messenger.

Strangely, The 700 Level - one of the most critical, well-read local blogs - has not been blacklisted by the Eagles. That’s a little like locking up your house before going to sleep but forgetting to retrieve the spare key from under the mat.

I don’t like this attempt at Communism. Who are the Eagles to say I can’t talk to my Internet girlfriend while watching the Big Green Machine play on Sunday afternoon. How dare they!
