    Kobe Bryant’s $21,000 Bar Tab

Oh, the things you can buy with $21,000.

    • A 2008 Chevy Silverado
    • A year’s tuition at a university
    • 15 bottles of Cristal at the Wynn in Las Vegas

Apparently the last one of the three is what Kobe Bryant did Friday night at the Wynn’s grand opening of its BLUSH Boutique Nightclub.

After poker player Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari bought a bottle of Cristal at the club, Bryant thought it was his duty to show he was the real player in town and bought five bottles. Esfandiari, being the poker player he is, raised the bar and brought his total bottle count up to ten in the night.

So what did Bryant do then? He ended this little competition and forked out $21,000 for 15 bottles, which ran for about $1,400 a pop, and didn’t even stick around. He left the club.

Looks like Kobe brings the same competitive fire to the club that he does on the court.

Who would have known two years ago that Jerry Yang would be the best in the world atJerry Wang poker.

But Yang came away the top money maker in Las Vegas when he won $8.25 million at the World Series of Poker.

Yang, a 39-year-old psychologist, only began playing poker two years ago and got his way into the tournament after winning a $225 satellite tournmanent at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California.

Just looking at that stack of cash with Yang, above, makes me want to take up poker and retire from go-fish.
