David Beckham Leaves a $900 Tip

David Beckham leaves a $900 tip.

It seems like we write more about David Beckham’s efforts off the field than what he does on it, but this one can’t go unnoticed.

After a charity game last November where Beckham and the LA Galaxy played against Hollywood United F.C., the team decided to stop by this bar in Culver City for a few drinks. Beckham picks up the tab, which was around $100, and leaves $1,000. A $900 tip! A pretty generous offer, especially since it helped the waitress fix her car and her teeth.

Of course this is just chunk change for David. Can you imagine how much it costs him to keep his wife happy? I bet it’s way more than $900.

We got so caught up in David Beckham’s first ever goal for the LA Galaxy, that we didn’t even care to look into the stands.

But according to SportsByBrooks, they just happened to point out that the man that was supposed to bring life to American soccer couldn’t even sell out his home stadium on his first start of the year.

There were about 17,223 in attendance Wednesday night at the Home Depot Center that can seat up to 27,000. And to top that off, it was rumored that 8,000 of those tickets were given away for free.

A Night of Firsts for David Beckham

Looks like David Beckham is starting to earn all those millions on the field rather than on the bench.

Mr. Posh had his first start of the year for the LA Galaxy where they hosted the DC United to a 2-0 victory. Beckham played a role in both of the Galaxy’s scores, notching his first goal on a free kick in the 27th minute then dishing out a long assist to Landon Donovan on a breakaway.

That wasn’t the end of Beckham’s night. He also earned his first yellow card after fouling the United’s Jaime Moreno.

The win puts the team into the August 29 finale in the SuperLiga Finals. The winner of the tournament gets $1 million dollars.

David Beckham Finally Makes MLS Debut

The long awaited debut of David Beckham to the LA Galaxy ended Thursday night as he entered in the 72nd minute of their game against the DC United at RFK Stadium.

But the story wasn’t about the Galaxy’s 1-0 loss, rather about their new English commodity, who didn’t have much of an impact on the field as he has been in the media lately.

Beckham’s soccer debut was the biggest attraction for a foreign player since Pele, as the sellout crowd of 46,686 was the fourth largest in RFK Stadium’s history and more than double the top attendance mark by any other MLS soccer club this year.

Beckham is expected to play sparingly again in the Galaxy’s next game at New England on Sunday.
