Do you guys remember Derek Bell?
If not, let me refresh your memory. He played 11 seasons in the majors and was most notably remembered as being part of the “Killer B’s” in Houston. The trio was compiled of Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio and Bell. The three terrorized pitching staffs of the NL for years, and while all of them are now retired, it looks like Bell is now part of another terrorizing lineup.
The prison lineup.
Bell has been in jail in Florida since yesterday for several drug related charges, which includes three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and another count for failing to appear in court.
Looks like Bell has been hitting the bong since he retired from baseball in 2001, or whatever he’s on, as court records said he was unemployed. I understand that if you were a multi-millionaire, sometimes you may get bored or have anything you could possibly want and don’t know what to do. I can also understand you may get bored. But why the majority of people tend to choose to live such a negative life after retiring, boggles me. Where are all the good people out there who are willing to give back to the community and be a role model. I use to watch Bell growing up and he came across as a good guy, clean cut. I was a fan. Now that is gone. It’s sad. I hope he cleans up.
