LenDale White Gets in a Fight and Uses a Belt

I don’t know whether to be happy or upset.LenDale White

And by that I mean, there was a fight involving an NFL player and during the altercation, he used a weapon. I know, what should I be happy about right?

Well, when LenDale White of the Tennessee Titans was involved in a traffic altercation this month in Denver, he happened to beat the other motorist with…a belt. Yes, I belt. And the reason why I’m a bit is because in today’s trigger happy society, athletes are so quick to unholster a gun. So in White’s case, I’m commending the NFL running back for feeling so overpowered, that he took the time to undress and use necessary force.

So thank you and shame on you Lendale White. Now leave your belt on from now on.

Prank Gone Bad: Peyton’s Joke on Cutler Backfires

Posted February 5, 2009 by nick

 Jay Cutler Gets Pranked

Pranks sure are fun…that is until they go bad.

Peyton Manning’s bright idea of throwing Jay Cutler into their hotel pool, with the help of a few offensive lineman, was supposed to be a friendly Pro Bowl “baptism”. They thought that they had every angle covered. They even managed to snag away Cutler’s cell phone before his little dip.

There was just one problem.

Cutler is a Type 1 diabetic and in his pocket was his blood sugar monitor. A blood sugar monitor that is not water proof.

So after the little plunge, you guessed it. It got fried.

“It was a bad audible on our part,” Manning said. “I think we were thinking right, trying to get the cell phone. Then we realize, the guy gets insulin shots. We missed that.”

Yeah, Manning. Great thinking. Good thing you got the cell though. That way if Cutler needed to call an ambulance later, he’d be set!

Hey Peyton, I know a kid on crutches, just in case you get bored and want to push him down some stairs.

Lets Play, “Name that Crazy, Olympic Champion?

Michael Phelps

Oh, the tabloids. Who said they weren’t good for anything? Who said they couldn’t stimulate the brain?

Lets play a little game this morning. Page Six of The New York Post gave us some clues to a certain athlete who was a little self-destructive and had been experimenting with a little Mary Jane for the first time. Here’s what they had to say:

WHICH Olympic champion smoked pot for the first time recently at a Michigan hotel? The stoned athlete broke the TVs in his room, but later bought exact replicas so he could replace them before anybody at the hotel was the wiser . . .

Hmm…An Olympic champion who has the type of money to buy TVs on a moments notice…Hmm…Would be in Michigan for no apparent reason at all….Hmm…Experimenting for the first time because he MIGHT have spent his entire teenage years trying to wipe that chlorine smell off of him.

Hmm….Does anyone know if Kobe swims, cause I can’t figure this out.

It’s All in the Name: Greg White to Now be Called Stylez

Posted December 16, 2008 by nick
Found in: NFL, What Were They Thinking!?

Greg White is Now Stylez White

I wonder about some people. And in this case, it’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Greg White. Oh, I’m sorry, that’s not his name any longer.

Now I can understand in some cases why people would want to change their names. For instance, some people do it for religious reasons, see Muhammad Ali. While others may do it because their parents had too much coffee in the delivery room and decided to give them a name like “Jacques Strap“.

Well, Mr. White has now officially changed his name to Stylez G. White. Sound familiar? If you’re a product of the 80′s, then you should know that Stylez was the best friend of Michael J. Fox in Teen Wolf. Although the character’s name was Rupert “Stiles’’ Stilinski, lets give White some credit for changing it up a bit.

White’s reason for changing his name? He’s just always liked the name. Fantastic.

Great reasoning. I like the name Seymour Butz. Time to take the necessary steps. Momma is gonna be so proud.

Derek Bell Arrested on Drug Charges in Florida

Posted December 3, 2008 by nick
Found in: MLB, What Were They Thinking!?

Derek Bell

Do you guys remember Derek Bell?

If not, let me refresh your memory. He played 11 seasons in the majors and was most notably remembered as being part of the “Killer B’s” in Houston. The trio was compiled of Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio and Bell. The three terrorized pitching staffs of the NL for years, and while all of them are now retired, it looks like Bell is now part of another terrorizing lineup.

The prison lineup.

Bell has been in jail in Florida since yesterday for several drug related charges, which includes three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and another count for failing to appear in court.

Looks like Bell has been hitting the bong since he retired from baseball in 2001, or whatever he’s on, as court records said he was unemployed. I understand that if you were a multi-millionaire, sometimes you may get bored or have anything you could possibly want and don’t know what to do. I can also understand you may get bored. But why the majority of people tend to choose to live such a negative life after retiring, boggles me. Where are all the good people out there who are willing to give back to the community and be a role model. I use to watch Bell growing up and he came across as a good guy, clean cut. I was a fan. Now that is gone. It’s sad. I hope he cleans up.

Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Pearson Shoots Pellets at Co-Eds

Ohio University's Maurice Pearson

Remember as kids, when you wanted to show your affection for a fellow classmate, you’d chase them around the playground? It was cute and harmless right? But you were also eight and you probably grew out of it.

Well, apparently Maurice Pearson took things to another level when he decided to shoot pellets at two Delta Gamma sorority members. Pearson, an Ohio University basketball player, was found guilty of aggravated menacing and assault after firing pellets from an airsoft gun. He’s been fined and sentenced to four days of house arrest.

My advice to Pearson is the next time he wants to express his liking for girls, buy them roses. Or if this is his way of showing he hates them, just tell the girls they’re fat. The psychological scars will be much bigger than the welts the pellet gun leaves.

Former Bronco Travis Henry Busted in Cocaine Deal

Posted October 2, 2008 by nick
Found in: Breaking News, NFL, What Were They Thinking!?

If you haven’t heard it by now, let me fill you in.Travis Henry

Travis Henry is an idiot.

Why?

Because the idiot just got busted by the DEA for buying a whole butt-load of cocaine with intent to distribute.

For someone who signed a five year contract worth $22.5 million in 2007, only an idiot would now want to be a drug dealer. I think Henry and Ricky Williams went to the same charm school. They’d both rather do drugs then remain millionaires.

Although he was released by the Denver Broncos earlier this year, the man could have signed with another team had he’d been able to stay clean of drugs. Plus, I’m sure he has some cash left over from a year ago before he was released, so why turn to drugs.

Such a waste of talent.

Maybe he picked up this “side-job” in hopes to  help support the rumored nine children he has with nine different women.

Something tells me he won’t be back in the NFL or on his way to a Daddy of the Year award anytime soon.

Rampage Jackson Leads Police on a Chase. Arrested in California

Posted July 16, 2008 by nick
Found in: Breaking News, MMA, What Were They Thinking!?

It’s not just a catchy name.Quinton Rampage Jackson

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson apparently went on a rampage last night. But he didn’t wreak havoc in the ring. Oh no.  It was in the streets of Costa Mesa.

The former UFC champ was arrested last night for felony evading, hit and run and reckless driving and is now being held in an Orange County jail, with bail set at $25,000.

Apparently Rampage rammed his 2008 Ford truck through at least one car and is possibly linked to two other car collision on the freeway.  This was only after police tried to pull him over, when they noticed his truck was weaving in traffic with a flat tire. But Rampage carried on, hoping to get away. Eventually colliding with a car and ending up on the sidewalk, where police arrested him with guns drawn.

What gets me is why this man would try to get away in the first place. First, he’s not going to make it too far with a flat tire. And second, the truck he was driving was pretty easy to distinguish. He has an image of himself on the driver and passenger side doors of his truck.

Way to keep a low profile.

Denver Broncos Release Travis Henry for Lack of Commitment

Posted June 2, 2008 by nick
Found in: Breaking News, NFL, What Were They Thinking!?

When I found out why the Denver Broncos released running back Travis Henry, I was extremely upset. And not because the Broncos had released him, but because it wasTravis Henry is released over something so stupid that Henry could have avoided.

What was the reason? Well, apparently the Broncos thought that Henry showed a lack of commitment, so they let him go. I don’t know how someone could not dedicate themselves to playing football and only football when they are paid millions of dollars. Especially for Henry, who recently just signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract in 2007. Henry has not only been nagged by injuries in recent seasons, but he’s also failed a marijuana test and was almost suspended for the season until he appealed it and won. With both the injuries and now drug issues, the Broncos felt it was time to move on.

Shoot, have the Broncos sign me for five-years for a fraction of his contract and I’ll show up everyday, stay away from Mary-Jane and run around that field like Adam Sandler in Waterboy. Some players really don’t see how lucky they are.

Bullet Casings Linked to Marvin Harrison?

Posted May 6, 2008 by nick
Found in: Breaking News, NFL, What Were They Thinking!?

Marvin Harrison has been getting questioned recently for a shooting that occurred just outside his car wash and garage in Philadelphia. I didn’tMarvin Harrison really say much about this because for one: it was all over the news anyways. And two: the police said the questioning was just routine since it was his car wash and he wasn’t a suspect. They were interviewing a lot of people. And seeing how it’s Marvin Harrison, I didn’t think that he could be involved in such a ridiculous crime.

Well, it looks like the scenario may have changed slightly.

The police are now saying that six of the bullet casings found at the scene of the April 29th shooting belong to Harrison. The bullets were apparently fired from a gun owned by Harrison.

Harrison’s representative have said that he was not present during the shooting and that his gun was not involved, while his attorney has chosen not to release a comment.

I really hope that Harrison played no part in this shooting. For a player of his caliber and the way he has held himself on and off the field up until this incident has always been positive. I expect something like this from Pacman Jones. But Harrison? Never in a million years.
