Not a Dumb Jock: FSU Star Puts off NFL for Oxford

    Myron Rolle

Now this is a role model.

When I read this, it actually made me smile a bit. You don’t see many athletes turn down millions for an education.

This Florida State player did. And for a very prestigious opportunity.

Safety Myron Rolle has turned down entering into this year’s NFL Draft to instead study at Oxford. Rolle had won a scholarship to study and the famous school and will seek a one-year Master’s Degree in medical anthropology.

Don’t I feel like an idiot after signing up for all the easy classes like film music and drama my last year of college.

Rolle plans to enter the 2010 draft and attend medical school after his playing career is finished. He wants to open up a medical clinic for the needy in the Bahamas.
