A Year to Remember: Your Favorite Moment of 2008

Matt Leinart

This past year has been one to remember. So much has happened in the world of sports, that it’s hard to pinpoint just one event that stands above all else in 2008. From the supposed affair between Madonna and A-Rod to the continued story of Roger Clemens and steroids. Also, who would have thought back in spring training the Philadelphia Phillies would have won the World Series. Philly never wins anything! I know this because I’ve been a Philly fan my entire life.

So, in remembering 2008, why don’t you tell us what your favorite sports moment of 2008 was. For instance, one thing that stands out for me is Matt Leinart’s incident that involved a former boy bander, hot tub, girls under-21 and a beer bong.

So please, feel free to share!

Come Home! Baron Davis Wants to Go Back to the Warriors

Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson

Golden State Warriors Gear  Baron Davis Jerseys

This comes as no shocker to me.

According to the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Jackson, his former teammate Baron Davis wishes he had never left the team and wants back. And just like everyone else who’s been on the Clippers, he wants to be traded.

Apparently Davis must have been sleep walking when he thought it was a great thing that he was going to Los Angeles when he was signed as a free agent. And then apparently he woke up recently and realized it was to the Clippers and not the Lakers.

Jeff Lurie

When you’re caught up in the moment, sometimes you don’t know what you’ll end up doing.

Take for instance, Philadelphia Eagles chairman Jeff Lurie. His way of celebrating his team’s touchdown is to slap his wife in the face.

High-five!

Wonder What Thought Went Through this Kid’s Head

 Happy Holidays

Hope you’re all having a great holiday and getting ready for the New Year.

During this time, it’s time to reflect on how your Christmas was and perhaps start thinking about somethings you like to do or maybe have in the 2009. Start lining up those New Years resolutions.

I, for one, would like to lose the spare tire I have and hope to see the Yankees back in the playoffs. Whereas junior in the picture above I bet he just wishes to never face plant again. Safety first!

Happy Holidays!

Fireballs: Kicking a Basketball on Fire

Whatever happening to playing video games or something else less lethal for entertainment?

Apparently these guys thought that lighting a basketball on fire and kicking it would keep them entertained for the afternoon. The only thing is it backfired when the guy actually tried to bend it like Beckham.

I blame television for actions like this.

Check it out.

Brian Baldinger’s Mangled Digit on MNF

Brian Baldinger

So I bet you’re wondering why Brian Billick and Dick Stockton have such a concentrated look on their faces?

Well, move your little eyeballs a little further down the screen and you’ll understand why they’re gazing into Brian Baldinger’s eyes.

Yes, that’s not an optical allusion, but rather, it’s Brian Baldinger’s pinky. You’d think he’d try to at least ball up his fist so that America won’t have to see his pinky tickle Billick’s nipple. And being analyst for Fox, you’d think he’s have some good insurance to set that sucker back into place.

Great, there goes my oatmeal.

Locker Room Fight: Shaun Smith Punches Brady Quinn???

Posted December 22, 2008 by nick

 Brady Quinn

Looks like there’s some controversy in the Cleveland Browns’ locker room.

So far, all of this is rumors, but in one corner stands defensive end Shaun Smith, who weighs in at 325-pounds, while in the other corner is pretty, boy and franchise quarterback Brady Quinn at 235-pounds. Apparently Smith had clocked Quinn. Ouch.

No word yet on what may have started this fight, but if I were Quinn, he should use that new cast on his surgically, repaired hand to make up the difference in weight. Stay tuned for more updates.
