    NBA Season Finally Begins!!!

Posted October 31, 2007 by nick

Last night marked the first day of the NBA season I couldn’t be more stoked!

Kobe Bryant dropped 45 and the Lakers still lost to Houston. Nothing has changed.

Carlos Boozer puts together his trademark double-double with 32 points and 15 rebounds in a rematch of last year’s playoff series win against the Warriors.

And the Spurs started off defending their title with a win over a Oden-less Portland team.

    Here’s to a fine season.

Brett Favre and Another Amazing MNF Win

Who says Brett Favre doesn’t have anymore left in the tank? Who says that he can’t throw the deep ball like the old days?

Well, after last night’s Monday Night Football win, we know that Dre Bly and the Denver Broncos aren’t one of them.

Great effort by the Broncos though at the end. Too bad the defense wasn’t awake on the first play of overtime.

I didn’t get around to posting this yesterday, but this finish is too good to overlook. This Division III team really put to work the phrase, “it ain’t over, till it’s over.”

    Check it out.

Red Sox Win the World Series

So, I held off on announcing it, but I’m sure all of you had already known the outcome of the Series. Being a Yankee fan, I felt like I had to snub the Sox just a little bit.

But with all sincerity, congratulations to the Sox for sweeping the Rockies.

NFL Fantasy Stats of the Week

    Found in: Fantasy Sports, NFL

    • It’s beginning to sound repetitive, but Tom Brady had another 5 touchdowns this week. But this time, he changed it up a bit: he went for 3 in the air and ran into the end zone for 2 more. His season touchdown total is now at 32 through eight games.
    • Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne took advantage of Marvin Harrison’s day off with 7 receptions, 168 yards and a touchdown.
    • Marques Colston hauled in 3 touchdown passes and 85 yards for the Saints.
    • The Patriots Defense: They recovered 3 fumbles, had an interception, 3 sacks and scored a touchdown, whooping Washington 52-7.
    • Joseph Addai runs in 2 touchdowns and catches another on 100 yards rushing.
    • Saints QB Drew Brees tossed 4 touchdowns for 336 yards.
    • Browns receiver Braylon Edwards hauls in 8 catches for 117 yards and two scores.

David Beckham Named Manliest Man of ‘07 by AskMen.com

Yes, that man you see above was voted by the readers of AskMen.com as the Manliest Man of 2007.

Yes, David Beckham beat out other “manlier” men such as and Peyton Manning (16) and LaDainian Tomlinson (41). Don’t ask me how it happened, sometimes it’s just the way the cards are dealt.

But something tells me that out of the 1 million voters who voted on AskMen.com, 999,999 were women. The lone vote being David.

Yes, we know it was you. Your gig is up!

    Anyways, I guess congratulations.

Sam Cassel and One Awkward Interview

Posted October 24, 2007 by nick
    Found in: Videos, NBA

Sometimes professional journalists are afraid to ask certain questions because they are afraid they are inappropriate or may offend the person being interviewed.

Well, good thing this guy isn’t a professional because he asks some pretty messed up questions to Los Angeles Clippers guard Sam Cassel, who many of you sports fans know, isn’t necessarily mistaken for Denzel Washington.

You know the interview is headed for a meltdown right after the guy says that Cassel plays for the Lakers seconds into the clip.

    Great fact checking buddy.

Anyways, check out this funny clip.

Tony Romo and Sophia Bush? Something More?

Posted October 24, 2007 by nick
Found in: Video Games, Celebrity Gossip, MLB

Has Tony Romo already mended his heart and moved on from hi apparent “great friendship” with Carrie Underwood?

It appears he may have when his new “friend” Sophia Bush, the star of One Tree Hill, showed up to teammate Terence Newman’s house to watch Romo play Guitar Hero III against Carmen Electra online.

Bush and Elektra? Not bad Romo. Not bad, but I still hate the Cowboys.
