Vince Young Gets in a Slap Fight
I remember one Sunday afternoon back in 1994 when Deion Sanders and Andre Rison got into a nice little slap fight on the gridiron, exchanging blows to each other helmets.
Now, I wonder if these athletes know that the only thing getting hurt while exchanging punches is their hands. Here’s a hint, the helmets are protect the head from vicious hits. Like 300-pound linemen, tackles, PUNCHES TO THE HEAD. Hint, hint.
Well, yesterday Tennessee Titans franchise quarterback, and Madden 08 cover boy, decided to get into a little altercation when he threw a punch at teammate Donnie Nickey. The safety had just taken down receiver Courtney Robie in what looked like a clothesline/choke hold to the ground. Young erupted and ran over to Nickey, throwing a punch, WITH HIS THROWING HAND, that luckily glanced off Nickey’s helmet.
Controversy at training camp? Nope.
In a touching interview that I saw on Sportscenter last night, Head Coach Jeff Fisher, acting as the playground supervisor, ensured everything was OK, as Young and Nickey had kissed and made up.
Oh, I love happy endings.
