Chestnut Breaks Record, Inhales 66 Hot Dogs
Joey Chestnut dethroned six-time winner Takeru Kobayashi as the biggest hot dog
eater in the world at Wednesday’s 91st annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Chestnut pulled away in the final minute of the 12 minute race, scarfing down six more dogs to finish with 66 to match his own world record.
Kobayashi didn’t do too bad himself, finishing with a personal best 63.
Chestnut takes home the $20,000 grand prize and brings the title of the biggest hot dog eater in the world to the U.S. after Kobayashi finished first in the contest the past six years.
