    Five Star Ties

Who said that bow ties can’t be trendy?

If Dhani Jones has anything to say about it, he’s going to make it happen.

Jones, an NFL linebacker who was recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles has come up with his own bow tie line, Five Star Ties, in hopes to revolutionize the fashion world with what his website says, ”screams trend, color and confidence.” Whether you’re wearing it to the office or at home, these ties won’t make you look out of place.

Made from silk, these ties do not lack quality and with all their colors and variations of styles, they catch the eye and stay far away from your basic black, tuxedo model. And for those of you who prefer the traditional tie, Five Star carries those as well with the same material and styles.

Usually I’m not a big fan of bow ties, but if I had to choose between these and the traditional black, it would take me but a second to make up my mind.

I likewhat he’s trying to do here by taking a rather plain accessory and trying to livin’ it up a bit with some color and designs. Makes dressing up more fun. If you’re into that sort of thing.

I had the luxury once to meet Mr. Jones at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas one evening.

In the spring of the 2005, not long after the Philadelphia Eagles were defeated by the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX, a group of my buddies and I headed off to Sin City for one last hurrah when I graduated from college. This was to be my last time to hang out with all of them before I moved back home to Alaska.

We were waiting in line, like all of us pee-ons do who have no status in this world do, when Jones and some of his buddies entered into the club. Oddly enough, he was wearing one of his bow-ties.

Well, to make a long story short, when I finally got in after spending a fortune on cover to be bumped to the front, I saw Dhani and walked up to him and expressed my condolences for his Super Bowl loss and confessed my love for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was cool about it and said he was sorry and shook my hand.

He was a cool cat. Just like his ties.
