A day after I wrote that the bubbly Jessica Simpson might have a weekend getaway planned with the Dallas quarterback Tony Romo, it is now reported that he has told his squeeze Carrie Underwood that he is going to need some time-off.
Romo supposedly told Underwood that when the football season heats up, he’s going to need to cool down on their relationship.
I wonder if this has anything to do with all those Simpson rumors lately.
Venus Williams slammed a serve that was clocked in at 128.8 mph. A new record.
I’m not gonna lie. I’m a little scared.
The news has tied Tony Romo again to a singing, blonde bombshell.
And I don’t mean his supposed girlfriend Carrie Underwood.
According to E! Online, Romo has been rumored to be associated with Jessica Simpson and sources have gone as far as saying that they are in the process of planning a weekend together in Dallas.
I’m not a big fan of you Romo, but I gotta give you props.
These girls you linked to aren’t half bad. Take advantage of it before the world figures out you’re not half as good as they say you are.
That’s how many hits Ichiro Suzuki, of the Seattle Mariners, has in his first 1,000 major league
games, the second highest total in history behind Al Simmons, who had 1,443.

Who’s Hot:
Manu Ginobili - The Spurs guard got hot at the right time of the year and has been crucial in his team’s last three wins, averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists per game.
Anaheim Ducks: After being down 2-1 in their series against the Red Wings, they have now won two straight to take the series lead after Teemu Selanne scored 11:57 into overtime to lead them to a dramatic come from behind win in Game five.
Who’s Not:
NFL Players: Even after Commissioner Goodell implemented that NFL players should be on their best behavior or subject themselves to harsher consequences, it doesn’t seem to have registered. This past weekend alone, four players were either arrested or violated a drug policy. And what do you know, Bengals players were two of them.
St. Louis Cardinals: It’s been a rough year for them altogether. First they suffer the tragic loss of Josh Hancock and now they are off to their worst start in 11 years. After getting swept by the Tigers in a rematch of last year’s World Series, it’s hard to think they won it all last year.
With the draft lottery being hosted today and everyone talking about the players of tomorrow in Greg Oden and Kevin Durant, I thought it would be nice to look at the players who were given the same title not too long ago.
So here it is. I’d like to introduce to you, my 33 and over team. Yeah, 33 is a random number, but I wanted Steve Nash on my team.
All NBA 33 & Over Team:
PG.
Steve Nash, 33: 18 points, 11 assists/game. Two-time league MVP and getting better each year.
SG.
Michael Finley, 34: 9 points, 2 rebounds/game. His numbers are weak, but when guards Parker and Ginobili are cold, he heats up.
SF.
Grant Hill, 34: 14 points, 3 rebounds/game. Former All Star year in and year out who’s career has been slowed by injuries. He can still produce.
PF.
Chris Webber, 34: 11 points, 6 rebounds/game. His numbers would be better if he was on any another team besides the stacked Pistons.
C.
Shaquille O’Neal, 35: 17 points, 7 rebounds/game. I could have put Camby down here, but the fact is, when Shaq is healthy, he dominates.
Sixth Man:
Jason Kidd, 34: 13 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists/game. Mr. Triple Double himself. I could even start him as my shooting guard.
OK. I swear this will be the last post today about an NFL player getting in trouble with the law. I promise.
But to keep you up-to-date, Broncos wide receiver David Kircus was charged and arrested for the assault against a man outside of Denver.
Earlier today it was reported Kircus was just going to be questioned and brought in for questioning, but it looks like Kircus turned himself in.
Oh, its just never a dull moment is it. The season better get here quickly before they run out of players.

So, I usually just do an individual blog for each player that gets into some sort of trouble, but I’m just going to combine these two idiots into one. It seems like the NFL had themselves quite the weekend in the police blotter.
The Cincinatti Bengals cut linebacker A.J. Nicholson today after he was charged with misdemeanor assault after he hit his girlfriend in the eye this weekend. The funny thing is that after the Bengals cut him and the charges were filed, she later told reporters that she hit herself in the eye after trying to grab her phone away from Nicholson.
Kind of curious to see how this one plays out.
Also this weekend, police are interested in questioning Denver Broncos wideout David Kircus for the assault on a man who suffered multiple broken facial bones. They are looking to bring him in to be placed in a lineup.
Wow, four players this weekend alone and I still haven’t gone through all the headlines. I think that after today, I’m going to start keeping count.

OK, so to avoid looking like an idiot after I already posted a blog about Chris Henry testing positive for drugs, opiates as it turned out, I now have new news.
Henry’s agent is now saying that the results of the test were negative and the Kenton County, Kentucky Attorney’s office, who originally said the results were positive, are also awaiting the results of a second test before handing Henry his new striped suit.
I don’t get it. Maybe someone jumped the gun and released the results before all the tests have been completed.
So, until then, we’ll just sit and wait for the real final results.
Oh, the suspense.
