Pacman’s Season Ended before it Even Started

So Pacman Jones took out a full page ad in The Tennessean on April 20th, apologizing to his family, friends, team and fans for the trouble he’s been getting into the past few YEARS.

Did you get that last word? It said YEARS.
Although I’m sure the ad is sincere, and it’s a great start in trying to win everyone’s trust back. But Pacman. Dude. Pal. You should have started that YEARS ago.
I’ve always believed that actions speak louder than words, and although this is an action, I need to see more.
The suspension is fresh, and the initial shock is still biting Pacman that he won’t be playing this year. Jones is going to try and appeal the suspension handed down by new NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, but I don’t think the Commish is going to budge. And frankly I hope he doesn’t.
The league is starting to get filled up with thugs and criminals who believe that they are invincible to any laws or rules.
Why not just fine them thousands of dollars some may ask?
I believe I heard it best when Seth Joyner, a former linebacker for the Eagles, said on a sports talk show that money means nothing to these guys. What does thousands of dollars mean to a guy who ends up spending that in ONE NIGHT at a strip club anyways. Take away the most important thing to a player. Take away the game. Period. Done deal. Simple as that.
Pacman, I think you’re a great player. In a few short years, you’ve established yourself into one of the best shutdown corners in the NFL.
Now it looks like you better establish yourself into one of the better players off the field as well before you’re not a PLAYER anymore.
