He got the team he wanted.
It just took four hours longer than expected.
Brady Quinn, the Notre Dame quarterback star, who many predicted to be the first overall player drafted, fell to the 22nd spot in the NFL Draft after Cleveland traded with the Dallas Cowboys to snatch him up.
With their third pick, the Cleveland Browns took Wisconsin offensive tackle Joe Thomas. Although this too is a safe pick, many experts thought they would take the local boy Quinn and hand him over the franchise. Hell, many thought he wouldn’t be on there any longer than the ninth pick. Gotta love the suspense of the Draft.
“The other teams could make trouble for us if they win.”
- Yogi Berra, New York Yankees Hall of Fame catcher
Anyone who’s ever bought a brand new mitt from the store knows that its about as stiff as a corpse, and is nearly impossible to squeeze closed on the first day.
To some people, a mitt is a sacred possession to them, so breaking it in and getting a good feel for it is very important.
Although there are so many ways to break in a glove, here are some helpful tips:
“I went to a fight the other night and a hockey game broke out.”
- Rodney Dangerfield, comedian

I hope he gets a big one.
Fish that is.
Recently Joe Thomas, the All-American offensive tackle from the University of Wisconsin, said that he is going to spend draft day with his father on Lake Michigan fishing.
I don’t know much about this guy, but I like him already and he is going to make some team happy.
In this one act, he’s shown character, morals, good judgment and he likes to fish.
“They say a tie is like kissing your sister. I guess that is better than kissing your brother.”
-Lou Holtz, Former Notre Dame Football Head Coach

My emotions get pulled when I still have to read articles about the real cause behind Pat Tillman’s death. I not only get bothered that this person of great character and bravery had lost his life in Afghanistan, but our own government covered up how he died and forced the men who were with him to lie.
Tillman, as you all know, was the former Arizona Cardinals star who left the team and millions of dollars to enlist in the Army after the Sept. 11th attacks. He made it through the grueling training of the Rangers, becoming one of the elite in helping to defending our freedom against terrorism.
Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out Sebastian.
The Boston Celtics have cut off their ties with second year guard Sebastian Telfair after he was arrested in the New York area with carrying a loaded gun in his car.
Good for the Celtics. As if a horrible season wasn’t enough, not too long after the curtains close on the Celtics’ year, he does this.
What are you doing with a gun in your car anyways? Do you really think you’re really in that much danger? Afraid someone’s going to jump out of the bushes while you’re at a stop light? Get over it. You shouldn’t be carrying a gun with you in the first place. Put it in your house where it belongs.
I’m sure some team will pick him up next season. They’ll shell out millions for a guy who’s been related to gun charges the past two years. But if I have anything to say about it, I hope no one does.
Give some kid coming out of college with a clean record a chance at the big time.
For all you who think that this is going to be a blow for the Celtics next season, it’s not as bad as you think.
For one, you can’t possible lose anymore games.
And second, I’m sure someone will pick up the six points Telfair brought to the game every night.
