How to Buy a Bike Helmet
To be sure that you have a safe and comfortable bike ride, it is always recommended that you wear a helmet.

Here are a few tips to help you get fitted for one.
Pick what you like:
With so many styles and colors out there today, finding a helmet to fit your style is simple. The only recommendation is that you choose a color that is bright and easily recognizable. This way, if you are biking on the road or at night, you will be easily spotted by motorists and others.
Is it certified?
When you’ve chosen your style of helmet, look inside and see if it has a sticker from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. On some older helmets, they may not have this sticker, but may have either the Snell Foundation or American National Standards Institute. If the helmet doesn’t have either of these stickers, then it is best to choose another helmet to ensure the best rated helmet.
How Does it Fit?
If you can, try the helmet on and adjust the straps so that they fit snuggly around your chin. Shake and move your head around and see how much movement you have. If you are able to move in it considerably and have adjusted the straps as tight as they allow, then you may want to try a smaller size. You shouldn’t be able to slide out of the helmet easily. You want it to fit snug, but not tight to your head.
Try out different sizes and look at the different buckle types to see what helmet best suits you.
