    Papasan Chair: “Nest Chair”

While living in my apartment in college, I needed a cute and casual chair for my living room. This Papasan Chair was perfect.

    Chair - $49.99 & Stool - $14.99

Although only one person can (or should) sit on this chair at one time, it is perfect for lounging, napping, or curling up with a good book. I call this chair my “nest chair” because, to me, that is exactly what it looks like. A bird’s nest. It is so comfortable, and you sink right in when you sit down. The cool thing about it is when you get sick of the color cushion you bought, or the fabric is getting kind of dingy, you can simply replace it with a fitted sheet or any other material. You can match your color scheme or use a contrasting color to make it stand out in the room.

What I really wish I bought back then was this double papasan chair.

Lone Star Trading Company - $249.00

It fits at least two people, and it looks like it can hold a friend who needs to crash at your place. And if they can’t fit comfortably across the chair, they can easily remove the cushion and place it on the floor. Beats sleeping on a hard surface.

Not too keen on the wooden frame? Here is a papasan chair with a metal frame.

Deal of the Day: Innovations Futon

Innovations Rollo Futon, $258.99 (was $297.84)

I love the style and functionality of this futon, and I wish I needed one just so I could take advantage of this deal. Futons are great for offices or dens that also act as guest bedrooms. That’s where I keep mine, and it works great as extra sofa seating during a soiree and then as a bed for any party animals who can’t drive home. This would also work wonders for a studio apartment–living room by day, bedroom by night.

    Striped and Polka Dot Vases

    striped orange and yellow vase
    Ceramic Vase, $12.99 (was 17.95)

I have a special place in my heart for quirky home accessories, which is why I love the stripes and polka dot trend that’s happening in the world of home accessories. What’s great about it is that, even if you lean toward the conservative side in your home decorating habits, you can still participate in the trend with a small object such as a vase. That won’t stir things up too much, right?

Even if–correction–especially if your house is neutral from floor to ceiling, master bedroom to kitchen, a colorful vase or two will really wake things up. Try them in the living room, a kitchen or dining room table and even a bathroom. Fill with dried flowers if real ones are too much of a commitment.
