Truth is when I first laid eyes on this bed, the first thing that ran through my mind was “Clap ON, Clap OFF….the Clapper!” Ha! But upon closer inspection I actually think that its brilliant!

Here’s what I am thinking, first of all temper-pedic material is magical. Super soft yet supportive. Plus I personally love my personal space while sleeping and the thought of not being disturbed when your partner shifts around or reads a late night book is awesome. One of our favorite finds at this year’s West Coast Green were these other-worldly and eco-friendly dome homes from Solaleya. Imagine a circular loft with plenty of skylights and a solar array on top, gently rotating to orient itself towards the sun, and you have the basic idea.

I guess I qualify as a “pack rat”. The reason I say this is because I just can’t get myself to get rid of my CD’s and (hold your breathe) my collection of VHS!! (cue heckling)

The way I figure is I spent hard earned dough on purchasing that vast collection and while I realize it is a dying technology if not dead, I just can’t get myself to buy all those movies over again in whatever new technology is present. And well my CD collection is just a nod to a bygone era. I like to think of myself as “nostalgic” a historian if you will.

One of my favorite scenes from “Friends” the sitcom was uttered by the adorably brain dead Joey. It was when they go to Barbados for Ross’s paleontology seminar and Joey feels like he entered a split universe where people don’t own televisions and read! When one lady informs him that she doesn’t own a TV set he is shocked and says “What is all your furniture pointed at?!”

That line always stuck with me as being funny and true. Have you ever noticed that all your living room furniture is facing your television set, as if silently paying homage to their god. Now I could sit here and preach about the loss of culture and literacy in today’s society, but I am not. Truth is you work hard, however you want to unwind should not be judged or ridiculed.

As for me, truth is I enjoy having one of my favorite DVD movies playing in the background whilst I scan the internet on my laptop. And since moving to my new place I still am on the fence about buying a dinner table and have been eating in front of the boob tube as well.

When I first get to work I am chipper, lively and still have that gleam of happiness in my eyes. Of course as the day progresses, my life force is slowly drained from my body and I become more and more hunched over at my desk .
