Big Top Cupcakes Take Desserts to a Whole Other Level

As an avid watcher of children’s programming, believe me not by choice, I have come across the occasional commercial that peaks my interest and actually gives me either a “Oh Jeez,” or “Oh Wow,” moment. One day, I was not enjoying a rousing episode of Kipper the Dog when suddenly my television screen was taken up with a giant cupcake.

We’re not talking a big cupcake, we’re talking about a giant cream filled and frosting covered dessert from heaven that could feed the Dugger family and be so delicious it will get them in the mood to make another kid kind of cupcake. Apparently, Big Top is a company that specializes in desserts that are a little…shall we say…husky.

The giant cupcake is made up of three parts: the muffin top, a spacer for a cream center and the bottom. The spacer is not a required element, but if you are going to make a giant cupcake why not go the extra mile. You bake the two main pieces separately and then combine then, once cooked, to create a dessert that will put you into a sugar coma. Needless to say, these are not supposed to be eaten by one person. It’s basically a new take on a cake recipe for birthday parties, etc.

Oh, but I’m not done yet, (said in a bad Australian accent) there’s more. The folks at Big Top were only beginning to bring out the big. A few weeks later during another please-someone-shoot-me episode of Caillou, my television screen was filled with…wait for it… a giant donut. Yes, my cholesterol filled dreams were answered and the world was made whole again with the creation of the Big Top Donut. Just when I thought the world could not be any better, lo and behold the commercial continued and the donut was replaced with…can you feel the suspense building… a giant cream filled cookie. The folks at Big Top were not only selling the giant donut, but also giving away the giant cookie with it.

My family was shocked when I suddenly began dancing a jig in the living room especially since I don’t know how to dance a jig and they all thought I was in the midst of a stroke or seizure. When I had convinced them my health was not in jeopardy, I told them about the glorious inventions of Big Top and my children danced with me as my wife nodded in disapproval. Oh Big Top, thank you for making everyone’s oversized dessert dreams a reality. Now please, if you can start working on oversized fried foods the world will finally know true happiness…and clogged arteries.
