Apothia Candles – Mi Casa Es Su Casa

Last week I wrote about my favorite fragrance by Ron Robinson’s Apothia, IF in the Beauty section and I received a great response from the owner and creator, Ron Robinson himself. He said,

“fragrance is more than just something to wear, it is about an experience as well. Fragrance takes us to a special place or memory. We can feel emotions such as energized and happy or sultry and sexy”

and I couldn’t agree more. So many times I have smelled something, like how the smell of rosemary always reminds me of someone I used to date, but it doesn’t just remind me of him, it actually makes me feel like I’m there in his house inhaling it from the rosemary he grew on his kitchen windowsill. The smell allows me to remember what I felt as I stood there and what I was thinking at that time.

So, on that note I would like to continue my tangent on fragrance and Apothia, but this time not just for your body, instead for your home.

Apothia carries a line of beautifully smelling candles in eleven signature scents. My favorite? Well, actually I have two. The first is Casa.

The description on one side of this beautifully designed box reads:

“Casa is a fragrant bouquet of Casablanca lilies, newly cut grass, and fresh air.”

And there is a philosophy behind the candles as well. Each scent has its own little poem. This one says:

“Sheer curtains dance in an open window. Polished wood floors glow in a sunlit room. Fresh cut flowers scent the air. Welcome home.”

Absolutely refreshing!!

My second favorite is Bronzed.

This one is described as:

“Bronzed is a burst of orange flower freshened with petitgrain, bergamot and precious jasmine.”

I absolutely adore the smell of jasmine!!

And the poem reads:

“Groves of gold, bronzed bodies, a sun-kissed day in the City of Angels. Paradise found.”

Each candle is priced at $46. There is a bead that comes on the wick of each candle, which is there to ensure that you are cutting it to the correct length for a clean burn every time. Tip: Be sure to remove the bead when burning!

Around the outside is a raised band called the “Halo” so that you can pick up and move the candle even when it’s burning and you won’t burn your hand.
