Japanese Advertisements Are Now Watching YOU
You’ve seen them everywhere. Billboards and advertisements. But how long do you actually stair at them or even really pay any attention.
Well, now those in Japan have come up with a process that actually watches you to see which advertisements grab the attention of the average spectator. The study is going to begin in January, where a camera is going to be placed above a display and equipped with facial recognition software.
“It uses image detection software. We gathered together many faces and came up with an average Japanese face, and by using pattern matching the system recognizes faces from the image.“
Hmm…I’m not gonna lie, this is a bit creepy. The article was right. This does seem like a scene out of the movie Minority Report.
Well, it looks like if you’re Japanese, you’re out of luck if want to show your displeasure with the ad. But if you’re the All-American white guy who happens to be in a Tokyo subway, proceed to flip the bird to ad if you don’t like it.
