Be Like Bill, Ignore iPods and iPhones: Microsoft Zune Deals

     Bill Gates

So you’d think the richest man on the planet would have pretty much everything. Especially something as cool and affordable as Apple’s iPhones and iPods.

    You’ve thought wrong.

Bill Gates has some pride and among the things that is banned from his family at their technologically advanced home are, you guessed it, Apple iPhones and iPods. Finally, something the kids at school can tease the Gates children about.

“Oh, you have a G5 jet, well I have a 3G iPhone! NeeNer NeeNer!”

Even the wife Melinda Gates apparently has an eye for Apple’s creations.

“Every now and then I look at my friends and say, “Ooh, I wouldn’t mind having that iPhone.”

But until Bill lets go of the reigns, it looks like it’s Microsoft Zunes and Palm Treos for everyone.

Microsoft Hires Jerry Seinfeld and Gates to Challenge Apple Ads

It looks like Microsoft is going to finally battle those annoying Apple commercials we keep seeing on TV.Jerry Seinfeld

For a modest $300 million, Microsoft is going to launch their new commercial campaign starring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. Seinfeld’s share is set to be around $10 million. Not bad for just standing there for a few seconds, blabbing about a computer and trying to brainwash viewers into thinking Vista is NOT annoying.

With Apple’s share of the PC world rising, Microsoft’s campaign is to be based on “Windows, Not Walls” and stressing the need to “break down barriers that prevent people and ideas from connecting.” It’s also going to try and help reverse people’s negative opinion on Windows Vista. Good luck with that.

I’m curious to see what Microsoft has up their sleeve with the Gates and Seinfeld combo. Seinfeld sure has the upper hand on Justin Long in star power. Hmm, maybe they should do a celebrity death match, like claymation, with Seinfeld and Gates teaming up against Long from Apple. Wait, Long needs a partner.

How about the old Dell dude? From the looks of things, he appears to be in need of a new gig. And at the end of the match, for some reason I see Gates coming out on top. Maybe he’s pelting the two dudes with iPhones or something, while Seinfeld chews on an iMac with his huge teeth.

Give the Gift of Bill Gates for Christmas

Posted December 13, 2007 by nick

If you’ve run out of gift ideas to give this Christmas, then look no further than to have Bill Gates help you spread the holiday cheer.

What better way to bring a smile to a loved one’s face than a snowglobe of Microsoft CEO Bill Gates swimming in money! And there are two different models to choose from.

So when you’re sitting at the fireplace counting your pennies to pay the bills, just look at ol’ Bill swimming in his money and you’ll just be thankful that there is someone out there who is rich.

Not really, but these globes are a bit funny.

Gates Foundation Owns Stock in McDonalds

Posted August 15, 2007 by nick
Found in: This Week in Gadgets, Breaking News

So yesterday Bill Gates announced that his foundation, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, owns about 740,000 shares of stock in the McDonald’s Corporation.

Yes, you read that right. The foundation that has the slogan, “bringing innovations in health and learning to the global community,” owns a ton of stock in a company that helps to make little Junior a bit more on the soft side.

Don’t you think this kind of defeats the purpose of what you’re trying to bring to the world Bill? I mean, you’re invested in a company that helps to fatten up the American public, yet your foundation is trying to teach us how to live a more healthy and hearty lifestyle.

      I’m confused.

I think I’m gonna go run on a treadmill and snack on Big Mac.
