I haven’t heard much about this except from what I happened to catch on Gizmodo this morning, but it looks like Uniden is going to have a GPS/Radar detector built into one device. Apparently there will be a version of the Uniden MaxTrax GPS system that is going to have a built-in radar detector.

So for those of you who have a heavy foot and want to be able to know where you’re going and where that cop is hiding on your GPS, you don’t have to wait any longer. Apparently Uniden is going to combine their long history of making radar detectors with their new introduction into the GPS market.

Not much is revealed about how the GPS will spot cops or traffic lights or whatever, but when I find out, I’ll be sure to update you.

Until then, keep it under 100 if you can.

Garmin today released their latest GPS unit, the pocket sized Garmin Nuvi 260.

In addition to the same features that come with all nuvi 200 models, this one is easy to install and gives you voice-activated directions that allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road.

Some notable features are that the nuvi 260 has a small internal antenna that makes it thinner and easier to mount in a car. It also lets you search for destinations by category, establisment’s name or specific street address. There is only one button on the entire unit, the power button, since everything is done on the 3.5-inch touchscreen.

The Garmin Nuvi 260 is expected to go for $499.99.
