Instead of watching television or playing video games, why not use a gadget in the outdoors? Sometimes nature is just as eventful as what happens on TV, and almost always more educational, better for your eyesight and better for your health. So this weekend, either pre- or post- Halloween festivities, break out the bike and the binoculars and check out your nature friends enjoying the fall foliage. Maybe you can get binoculars strong enough to see things you never thought you would!
When buying binoculars, basically you want to make sure you don’t get the cloudy-visioned little kid ones that were useless as a 5-year-old and still are today, and you don’t want to pay a fortune to get binoculars that can see the craters on the moon (unless that’s what you dig). Look for binoculars in the $50-100 range, and you should get a fair pair that won’t leave you heartbroken if they break, and won’t leave you blind to nature’s bounty.
