The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena Review

     Dark Athena Review

    Embrace the dark.

What more would you expect from a man feared by all and who flourishes in the darkness.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, stars none other than Riddick, the most ruthless and feared criminal in the universe. Picking up from the latest installment, Escape from Butcher Bay, Riddick now finds himself captured aboard the Dark Athena, a mercenary ship that is determined to finish him off once and for all.

    • Difficulty: Overall, I didn’t find the game too challenging, which led me to get bored more quickly then I would have liked. The most challenging aspect I found was at times, trying to find a vent to jump into to take me to the next level. Killing the enemy didn’t prove too hard when you’ve got Riddick’s moves down.
    • Graphics:  The remastered version of “Escape from Butcher Bay” is like night and day. They’ve really stepped it up in quality. Overall, the game was good. Despite it being too dark for my taste in most levels, but what can you expect from a man who’s supposed to see in the dark. Also if you’re looking for a game that is detailed with it’s fighting techniques, you’ll like this. This game is packed full of graphic ways to execute your enemies.
    • If you’re looking to challenge online opponents, you’ll enjoy its multiplayer option. You’ll experience new game modes not experienced in this game or Butcher Bay.
    • I wasn’t all that impressed by the pace of the game. I know that Riddick is supposed to be all stealthy and work his way through the ship undetected, but sometimes I found my ADD catching up with me, hoping to find some action soon. But I will say that when I did find some, it was fun having Riddick go off in his berserker mode or sneaking up behind the clueless drones.

Overall, I’d say this game was good. Despite the slow pace and sometimes lack of action, I have no complaints. So if you’re looking for a fun game, that isn’t too challenging, I’d recommend trying out The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.

Banned Apple App: Apple Takes Down Baby Shaker

     Baby Shaker

Apparently Apple, for a very brief moment in time, did not like crying babies.

Apple approved a controversial iPhone application, “Baby Shaker,” then immediately had to take it down, due to outrage and protest from child protection groups.

The app does just what it says. It puts a baby on the screen. It begins to cry. And then you see how long you can take the annoyance before you shake the crap out of your phone.

“On a plane, on the bus, in a theater. Babies are everywhere you don’t want them to be! They’re always distracting you from preparing for that big presentation at work with their incessant crying. Before Baby Shaker there was nothing you could do about it.

“Now, Baby Shaker gives you a charming drawing of a baby sure to make those with a less than iron will fawn. True to life, it begins to annoy you immediately. See how long you can endure his or her adorable cries before you just have to find a way to quiet the baby down!”

Very interesting, and yes, a cruel attempt at fun and humor.

I’m sure Michael Vick for a brief moment in time was thinking of how to create an app for fighting pitbulls to help him earn his millions back.

Video Chatting: Next Gen iPhone to Have Video Chatting

     Apple iPhone Patent

I love how Apple keeps trying to keep the iPhone.

The latest Apple patent shows how Steve Jobs and the boys have applied for a patent for a type of video chatting. There are looking to create a front-facing video camera for chatting for the next generation iPhone. Also included in the patent is a morphing interface that will adapt to the motion of the user. Meaning, if you’re shaking like crazy, the elements on the screen will get bigger so you can punch them with your stubby digits.

Now, will they just figure out a way to send picture messages through text messaging. Is that to much to ask Mr. Jobs!?

Sleeping on Air: Floating Cloud Sofa

    Cloud Sofa

I have to say, I haven’t seen a sofa, bed or anything quite like this.

It puts to life the concept, “I want to float away on a cloud.”

The Cloud Sofa is supposed to bring you ultra comfort and relaxation. It’s supposed to literally float in the air by being supported by a magnetic force generated by the bottom base. I don’t know how much more of an effective sleep you’ll get for this, but I accept this challenge.

I have issues getting on a hammock. Heck even in my bed.

Why do I see myself getting a concusson when I stumble home at 3 A.M.?

Neuroscientists at SUNY Erase the Minds of Mice with ZIP

Posted April 9, 2009 by nick
Found in: This and That, Breaking News

Neuroscientists at SUNY Downstate Medical Center have apparently found a drug to erase memories from the brain.

Just like something straight out of the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the researchers have been selectively erasing the minds of mice with a drug called ZIP.

I don’t know why it’s taking scientists this long to figure out how to erase someone’s memory.

The folks down at Anheuser-Busch have been doing it since 1852. And if you don’t believe me, hit up a frat-row at a college campus. Oddly they support some of the smartest and dumbest kids in America.

And I’m hoping our minds are a bit stronger than that of a mouse, or we have some serious Darwin issues to deal with.
