New Apple 3G iPhone - What time will they start to sell?

Well I will be one of these sorry chaps waiting in line for the new 3G Apple iPhone! So believe me when I say I have had my ear to the streets and have been hanging on every rumor or leak about what time they will start selling the new iPhones.

So here is what I have been able to gather, obviously everyone knows by now that the July 11th release date is set in stone. Regarding the time? Well here it is -

Rumor is it will start being sold at 8am!

    They posted:

We just got a tip that AT&T store managers received emails stating that the iPhone launch would be at 8:00 AM on July 11th, and not 6:00 PM like last year. Our tipster stated this was 8:00 AM CT, but we’d guess if 8:00 AM was indeed the launch time, it would be 8:00 AM local time just like last year. We’re working to confirm this and the post will be updated when we do.

That’s the latest my fellow die hard Apple fans. See you there!

Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment Systems (SNES) were thee gaming consoles in my day! Well for my fellow nostalgic gamers who suspect there family, friends or spiteful spouses of getting rid of your “classic” Nintendo console, I found just the solution!

Say hello to the Retro Duo Gaming System !

    Retro Duo Gaming System

So what is the Retro Duo gaming system? It’s basically a tiny console from Innex that accepts both NES and SNES cartridges.

As an added bonus, it’s Region Free, so you can play import games that never got released in the USA as well.

The best part about the Retro Duo? It costs $45.99 USD and comes with two controllers.

There you have it, dust off your old NES & SNES games and get cracking! :)

New Cell Phone Laws in California

HAHAHAHAH!! Okay I had to share this image regarding this New Cell Phone Law in California because it struck my funny bone, I think this fella is both genius and hugely idiotic at the same time. :) Where was I?

Here are the FACTS regarding the new Cell Phone Laws:

    Effective: July 1, 2008

    Two Laws Actually:

1.The first prohibits all drivers from using a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle, (Vehicle Code (VC) §23123). Motorists 18 and over may use a “hands-free device.”

    2. Drivers under the age of 18 may NOT use a wireless telephone or hands-free device while operating a motor vehicle (VC §23124).

    • You can call 911 without using a “hands free” device.
    • FEES: $20 (base fine) $50 (subsequent convictions) + penalties so it could go up to 3x base fine
    • NO POINTS on your driving record, but it will appear as a CONVICTION on your driving record
    • NO GRACE PERIOD: A copper will NOT tell you off with a first time warning, effective July 1st, they can pull you over and give you a ticket based on cellphone use alone
    • ONLY DRIVERS - your car guests can blab away
    • PUSH TALK - does NOT qualify as “hands free”

So those are the highlights, for more information go to: California Department of Motor Vehicles: New Cell Phone Laws

Looks like I am going to have to finally invest in those creepy ear bud things or better yet buy a car with blue tooth technology, hmmm I am leaning towards the new car.

If you need to purchase a hands free device to comply with this law, here are 3 unique offers you may consider -

    1. Get 5-10% Cash Back + Free Shipping on orders over $30 at CellPhoneShop.com

    • Sign up for a new account and that gets you $5 dollars
    • Use coupon code: FreeShip to get free shipping on orders over $30
    • Click on link and purchase product. Cashbaq gives 10% cash back on purchases.

    2. Shop Ben’s Bargains “Bluetooth Area”

    • No cashback here, but deals are advertised from New Egg, Buy.com, Geeks.com, and Dell Home. It’s updated daily!

    3. My Consumer Guide features big box store Best Buy!

    Hope this helps!

Girl Gadgets - The Shredder Pen, Your Secrets Safe

    Girl Gadgets - Shredder Pen

Truth is when I initially saw this “Shredder Pen” marketed for the gals, I did not immediately think it was a pen! Ha! But that’s a rated R tale not suitable for the kiddies.

When I took a closer look, it turns out this is a pretty nifty gizmo for fledgling little gossips! As you can see it doubles as a shredder so you can instantly shred your naughty scribbles. This multi-purpose pen would have been a godsend back in high school, there were many a notes I wish I had shredded before those crafty nuns got a hold of the paper! (I went to an all girls private high school)

Plus it even has a built in FM radio with ear piece. Though in my experience if you are writing the type of notes that need to be shredded immediately you should have your wits about you, and do not lose yourself in the music. Pretty cool though! (For ages 6 - ?)

Release Stress - Shoot Ducks at Work

    Duck Shooting Gallery - Gadgets

I suppose you have never felt the sudden urge to go postal at work? Now just hold on a tic, by no means am I encouraging acts of random violence in the work place, but come on, we all have those days where nothing goes right and you would like nothing better than to slowly turn green and go “Hulk” on everyone!

Well for those moments in life I propose the “Duck Shooting Gallery” . The aim of the game is to fire your laser gun at the ducks as they scuttle behind the static targets. When shot they’ll drop dead, your score notches up, and then after a lightening bit of resurrection, they scuttle off again. An LED counter will tally up your canard casualties plus the game emits a real gun sound.

So I might be a little disturbed that such a game would truly ease my stress levels but I was a fan of the game Duck Hunt by Nintendo as a kid so I guess life swings full circle. :)
