Ever wonder what it’s like to be an astronaut?

Well, the folks down at Estes have come up with this digital rocket that allows you to either take 3 pictures or shoot a 12 second video of its flight. It comes ready to launch and includes a USB chord that allows you to connect straight to your computer. It also comes with its own launch pad and camera software.

For those of you who think that the camera will shatter on impact, the camera in the nose cone is designed to withstand a free fall for up to 500 feet.

According to Engadget, it looks like they have found someone that can crack the iPhone SIM lock system and allow users to choose their own provider and allow those outside the United States to have a fully functional iPhone.

Supposedly the iPhoneSIMFree.com team cracked the code, although they won’t say when or how, making them the first to do so.

Here’s another diamond studded gadget that has no business being diamond studded.

But if you happen to have $40,000 laying around, then maybe you’d want to pick up this iPod Shuffle. I don’t know who came up with this idea, but the thing is not only lined and coated with diamonds, but also gold. Even the earbuds have diamonds on them!

    Memlite USB Flash Drive/Lighter

Posted August 23, 2007 by nick
Found in: General, This Week in Gadgets

    A USB lighter?

I don’t really see the connection between the two, but who cares! I’m always up for new ideas.

According to the site Everything USB, it says that the Memlite can hold up to 512MB of information and it comes in either orange or black. You’d think that there would be more options since the picture to the left clearly shows more options. And for you nicotine addicts, the lighter pops out of the bottom of the device if you have trouble finding it.

You can pick this up for $40 at the Memlite site, although the site doesn’t look very secure and reliable.
