Wii Shortages to Continue into Holidays
For those of you who thought you’d be able to pick up the popular Nintendo Wii by
Christmas season, you may still run into trouble locating one.
According to The New York Times and Nintendo America President Reggie Fils-Amie, the Nintendo Wii shortage is most likely to remain during the holiday season due to the high demand of the video game console.
If have been looking for the Wii like I have, you’ll know that it has been impossible to find one. Nintendo can’t seem to punch out enough of these things to fit the demand, which have been sold out in stores for 33 weeks, and that demand is only going to increase during the holidays.
Nintendo has said that one of the reasons for its popularity has been because the Wii has caught on with older gamers. According to Nintendo, one in eight users in a Wii household is in their 50s or over.

The Wii is awesome. Everytime we invite someone over to play it, they leave wanting one.
That being said, the Wii currently has the same short comings as every other ‘next gen’ console: no killer games. Nintendo (And Sony and Microsoft) will have a much better line up this fall.
I personally am looking forward to Mario Kart (With online play! Finally!). Apparently there is 1 or 2 Star Wars games in development, one being rumored to be a saber game. Now that will be cool on the Wii!
