Seven for all Mankind Dojo Jeans

I’m still obsessed with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, which is why I’ve chosen to showcase these Seven ‘Dojo’ Jeans ($ 109 until August 6 when they go up to $165) for my deal of the day. I picked these pants because they have a super updated look–I’m so glad that denim designers finally got it in their heads to make wide-legged jeans in a dark wash. Geez. For years, I couldn’t find a flare that wasn’t faded or sandblasted on the thighs, a look that neither appealed to nor flattered me. Now, with all the indigo denim coming out for fall, it feels like Christmas.

The rise is also what sells me on this pair of jeans. It’s high enough that you can sit without fear, but low enough that it works for everyone. Even those who fear the high-waisted jeans trend that looms.

I can’t wait to sport jeans like these with a cropped tweed jacket and ankle boots this fall. Luscious.

    Seven Jeans First Ad Campaign

Here’s a sneak peek at the Seven for All Mankind ads that will debut in October.  Surprisingly enough this is the first print campaign for the monster denim brand.  You would think they’d be more exciting since this is their entree into the ad game, but I like the one looking over the city, and those trousers are hot stuff.  The model is Carolyn Murphy and the guy below is Tyson Ballou, who has appeared in ads for BCBG, Hugo Boss, DKNY and Emporio Armani.

    High-Waist Jeans–Get Used to It

Posted July 13, 2007 by valentina
Found in: Women's Fashion, Trend Alert

I was an early supporter of high-waisted jeans as is documented in my post Weighing in on the High-Waisted Controversy. I think they’re way more flattering than most people think, and it’s a shame that some of the early high-profile wearers wore them so terribly.

The reaction to this pic of Jessica Simpson, for instance, was heard ’round the world. But, let’s blame the messenger–Jessica chose to wear pants that were too tight for her, topping them with a short sleeve turtleneck, and any ample-chested girl knows that is the kiss of death. Seriously, if you’re curvy, and you wear your clothes too tight, you will look bigger than you are…even if you are Jessica Simpson. So, if you want to enjoy this trend, you’ve got to choose very wisely. Besides, the low-waisted trend wasn’t all wine and roses, either.

    Muffin tops, anyone?

But despite all the hysteria that this denim trend has caused, they’re still popping up everywhere and at every price, so I doubt it will be long before the acceptance stage begins. Our eyes just need to adjust. Like with a new haircut.

Besides remember how cute Scarlett Johansson looked at the Imitation of Christ show a few years back and what about Ciara? Don’t let Jessica’s bad apple spoil the whole barrel.

So, if you’re game, here’s a few standouts:

    L to R: Lips ‘Colette’ Trousers,$179, Joe’s ‘Muse’ Stretch $174, Dittos ‘The Classic’ $159

Paige Premium Denim ‘Hillhurst’ $198, Goldsign ‘Lust’ $165, Piper ‘High Waist $39.50-45.50

    Habitual ‘Middy Sailor’, $198

Seven for All Mankind on Sale

Well, it’s not everyday that Seven Jeans go on sale, but today is the day, my loves. At $89 (old price= $178), these are on super sale at Shopbop. I like these pants because the waist is higher than you’d expect and since that seems to be the emerging trend, they’re totally current. Don’t you hate it when the only jeans on sale are the ones that nobody’s wearing anyway? That’s not the case with these.

The color is also a clincher for me because I like a subtly faded denim–the light color works with light summer color, but it will also do quite well with darker hues come winter. Check out how cute they look with those black flats.
