Denim Deal:Goldsign Orchid Jeans on Sale

I’ve liked these Goldsign Orchid jeans for awhile. With the wide leg and mid-rise, they cut quite a sophisticated silhouette.  I’ve tried them on before and the denim is pretty soft and not too heavy–they’ll translate into spring pretty easily.  They’re also a good addition to a work wardrobe because of their trouser fit.  Wear them with a t-shirt on the weekends, and dress them up with a blazer and heels on a casual friday.

Goldsign Orchid Wide Leg Trouser Jeans, $124 (old price=$209)

Denim Deal: Rich & Skinny Jeans

These Rich & Skinny (I know, but I think they’re being ironic) jeans have the perfect silhouette–they’re kind of like those old Levis Sta-Prest jeans. When pants have a higher waist and a flared leg like this, the effect is really elongating and flattering on a lot of body types, from curvy to lanky. It’s also nice that there are so many jeans out now without distressing or faux fading since a nice, dark even wash seems so fresh at the moment.

Rich & Skinny Flashy Flare Jean, Godiva Wash, $129 (old price=$184) at eLuxury

Denim Deal: 7 For All Mankind ‘Georgia’

These high waisted jeans by Seven are super cute. The faded wash is pretty natural, giving them a nice vintage look, and I love love love light colored denim in fall/winter. A dreamy ensemble would include these jeans worn with a black turtleneck sweater, a brown leather jacket and brown boots. Yes, indeed.

    And they’re on sale!

    7 For All Mankind ‘Georgia’ $117 (old price= $198)

Bright Deal: Citizens of Humanity Paley

I know you’re thinking, “Is this woman crazy or something, what on earth am I going to do with fuchsia jeans? Come on!” And I totally get that reaction, but here’s my vision:  I remember once seeing the coolest fashion spread in some magazine (it was years ago, I can’t remember which one it was) and it had models walking in New York City, wearing bright skinny jeans just like this.  They had on simple flats, fitted black turtle necks sweaters, lots of black eyeliner and 60s style hair.  I think Amy Winehouse must have seen it, too.

Anyway, I always remember that look and, if height-wise I had any business wearing capri pants, I would totally rock that look.  But it doesn’t work on me, so I bid you to make my dreams come true, average to tall girls.  Do it for me! Do it for fashion! Do it for Amy Winehouse!

Citizens of Humanity Paley Jeans, $115.50 (was $154)

    Seven Jeans First Ad Campaign

Here’s a sneak peek at the Seven for All Mankind ads that will debut in October.  Surprisingly enough this is the first print campaign for the monster denim brand.  You would think they’d be more exciting since this is their entree into the ad game, but I like the one looking over the city, and those trousers are hot stuff.  The model is Carolyn Murphy and the guy below is Tyson Ballou, who has appeared in ads for BCBG, Hugo Boss, DKNY and Emporio Armani.

    Pimp My Jeans, Indeed

This morning on Denimology, I read about PimpMyJeans. com, a site dedicated to bedazzling denim. At PimpMyJeans, you can send in your own pair or buy new ones from them ($72) and then the customizing begins. They’ll shorten your jeans for you, make them into a skirt, dip them in bleach, stencil them, take an airbrush to them, encrust them with rhinestones, attach ribbons to them, patch them up, stamp them, trim them with feathers, and a myriad of other strange things. Their “Custom Product of the Month” appears to the right.  Hmmm.

I have to say that none of that sounds appealing to me, but I know some people will embrace the service, and I applaud PMJ’s entrepreneurial spirit. I am really concerned about the heat transfers, though:

Celeb Denim of the Moment: JBrand

For the past few months, the ubiquitous Seven Jeans haven’t been so ever present among the celeb set. That’s because there’s a new denim obsession in town, baby, and it’s called JBrand. One of the first to usher in the wide-legged and high-waisted jeans trends that are slowly but surely making their way into the mainstream, JBrand has smartly capitalized on the inevitable backlash against super-low bootlegs, whose spell we’re beginning to wake from. The most popular seems to be the high-waisted “Doll,” which Ms. Alba is sporting, the voluminous-legged “Pallazzo” worn by Katie Holmes and the high and skinny “Bardot” seen on Beyonce.

    Joplin Palazzo, $218

    The Doll, $187

    The Bardot, $179
