Obama’s charisma certainly helped him win the Democratic nomination for the 2008 presidential election, but apparently his fashion sense is also being recognized. I read on ABCNews.com that Donatella Versace dedicated her Spring 2008 men’s collection to Obama:

‘Versace described the Obama-dedicated style as one designed for “a relaxed man who doesn’t need to flex muscles to show he has power.”‘

He doesn’t care much about fashion at all, but I’m sure he’s flattered that he’s “natural” fashion sense is pleasing to high end fashion designers.

They’ve come a long way, baby!

Ladies, today is the day! Not sure how you all are celebrating this fabulous occasion, but I will be attending a Sex & the City: The Movie premiere party tomorrow. The proceeds will go to breast cancer research. I’ve heard of & read about many other great premiere parties happening this weekend:

A party in Kansas City will be sponsored by Passion Parties, FIMB Yoga & Wellness Center in Lee’s Summit. The proceeds will go to the cancer charity Bright Pink.

There will be a Cosmos and Champagne for Charity party benefiting the Diabetes Foundation in South Florida.

In Santa Rosa, CA there is a party at Rialto Cinemas Lakeside where attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character! I have a feeling fanatics will dress up regardless if the party they are attending encourages it.

Something interesting I saw on AskMen.com that you may already know about: Victoria Beckham turned down a cameo in the movie!? WHY!?

Speaking of men, if any men are reading this you should attend one of these parties. I’m not telling you to go watch the movie, which I know may be torturous for some, but I don’t know of one chick that will NOT be attending some sort of Sex & the City: The Movie party. So, go ahead and go to a party, but leave the cheesy lines at home…okay?

Speaking of the men & the movie, all I can say is if John, A.K.A. Big, mucks things up again and isn’t sure if Carrie’s “the one” at the end of the movie. I’ll be pretty…peeved.

How will you be celebrating?

What’s the weirdest Sex & the City party idea you’ve heard of?

If you decide to stay home and avoid the crazy crowds at the box office this weekend click here for instructions on how to make a cosmopolitan. You and your friends can drink & eat while watching Sex & the City seasons to refresh your memory before you watch the movie NEXT weekend!

Check out these pictures from Kate Sylvester’s collection at Sydney’s Fashion Week:

News.com.au reports on the apology that was made by Kate Sylvester due to complaints about her collection, one of which came from the national secretary of Australia’s Returned & Services League, Derek Robson. He felt the use of war metals was “appalling & sickening”. His main concern was timing because April 25th is the day when New Zealand & Australia reflect back on the brave memebers of the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during WWI. So, I can see why this would upset people. Although, I do see what Sylvester was trying to do from a creative standpoint.

Sylvester says she meant no disrespect against the military. This collection is titled “Royally Screwed” and crowns & tiaras were also used. TV3.com.nz reports Sylvester stating about her collection: “It’s called Royally Screwed and is about mad, bad royals, which is quite topical at the moment.”

What do you think about this collection. If a designer from the U.S. did this with U.S. servicemen’s military metals…how would you feel?
