Happy Halloween!  Get the looks of the sexy Witches of Eastwick!

    Witches of Eastwick

There are so many possible fashion-forward Halloween movies to celebrate today’s festivities…but in terms of icons, there’s nothing better than Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Cher from Witches of Eastwick. For your personal celebration, become a true transformation: just this about the huge leaps in character, fashion, and sexuality these three women made during the film! It’s amazing the effect Jack Nicholson has on women from the late 80’s. Amazing.

The Nervous Bookworm: Quivers my heartstrings every time Sarandon breaks her cello strings and lets her hair down with the help of Nicholson’s “Daryl”. To be your own nervy bookworm this Halloween, buy some thick classes and a beige sweater. Or better yet, be Sarandon post-transformation: dye your hair bright red and curl it, and wear a floor length silk sleep gown.

    The bookworm sweater:

    Or the sultry dressing gown:

Bizar-tist: Cher really pulled off the crazy feminist potter with her fertility sculptures and hair piled on top of her hair with chopsticks. Overalls are coming back, my friends, but you can’t do it right unless there’s paint all over them.

    The Artist:

    The Overalls

    The Chopsticks

Working Woman: And who can forget Michelle Pfeiffer and the cute, over-sized, pseudo-masculine clothing she wears? To pull off her look, try out a bowler hat and an oversized, animal-print suit jacket (available at your closest vintage clothing store).

Teal happens to be one of my favorite colors, but I think the majority would love to sport a pair of these slingback pumps in black.  I love t-strap sandals.  I think they help sexy up any outfit.  These babies will make you pretty tall as they have a 4 1/2” heel plus a 3/4” platform.  You will have these in your closet for a while, so they are definitely a good investment.

Report Signature Women’s Lombard Slingback Pump: $194.95 Now: $129.90

My name is Lisa Remi and I am a glamour addict. I just like dressing up and I don’t care if I have no where to go. Any excuse to put something glam on, that’s me. I’ll put on a pair of diamante earrings just to go downstairs to the fridge.

    To and From the Gym

We’ve all been there—you’re tired, sweaty, and flushed. You’ve been working out at the gym for 2 straight hours and even though your glutes look fabulous, huge clumps of your hair has escaped from the ponytail. The last thing you want to do is look presentable, so you throw on the balloon suit and Uggs and slug your way to the car, decide to run a few errands and pick up an iced coffee on the way home. Though I always support a healthy dose of exercise, the “balloon suit” is never a good idea.

Exhibit A: The Evil Balloon Suit

Is it a boy? A girl? Who knows! That’s how much individuality is lost by the balloon suit. What are some healthy options? Take a look. But first, some words of advice:

    1. Do not pick tight-fitting sweatpants with hoochie slogans written on the bottom.

    2. Do not pick tight-fitting sweatpants with hoochie slogans written on the pants leg. Victoria’s Secret included.

    3. Make a balance rule. If the pants are baggy, pick a snug shirt. If the pants are snug, pick a baggy sweatshirt. Do not pair baggy with baggy, or snug with snug.

    4. Bring layers and focus on warmth. You don’t want to pull a muscle!

    Favorite Picks:

    Semi-Fitted Pants

                                                           pants
    Zip-Up Sweater Vest

                                                                    sweatervest

This should add a little ‘blush” to your fall wardrobe.  I love wallets that are big (but not too big and stylish enough that they can double as a clutch.  Not only does this “Well Coifed Red” wallet qualify as such, but the color will definitely help you stand out.  If it’s just too girly for you, it also comes in black.

Winter Scarecrows Are A Thing Of The Past

Posted October 28, 2008 by Lisa Remi
    Found in: Women's Fashion, Handbags

When I was a little girl, my mother used to wrap me in layers, and layers, and layers of warm clothes in the winter. I would walk around all day with my arms stuck out either side of my body at right angles. Even after I’d taken off the clothes, they would stay like that for ages. One year I even thought about getting a part time job as a scarecrow on a farm, but winter wasn’t the best time for a stint like that.

Hence from my scarecrow days, I vowed that I would always look hot in the winter. I would be nice and warm, but stylish.

This winter coat from Spiga will give you a classy profile without letting in the winter chills - Via Spiga Cashmere Blend Womens Coat, $129.99

                                                       Spiga Woolen Coat

I also love this winter jacket from North Face, it’s so chic! North Face Women’s Atlantic Jacket, $278.95

Look cute and cosy in this Betmar Waffle Cap. Betmar Women’s Waffle Cap - $78.45

You May Want to be a Star, but Why Dress like One?

Posted October 24, 2008 by colleen
    Found in: Find That Look

You may dress like a star, but that doesn’t make you one. Even the best and brightest of our contemporary Hollywood starlets had to start somewhere, and rarely looked much better than you or me. Take Sarah Jessica Parker, for example, now freely associated with Manolo Blahnik’s and Dior. Back in our childhood, she was nothing more than the bimbo witch from Hocus Pocus. Save dressing up as a movie star for Halloween—dress like a movie star in progress every other day.

Besides the unruly hair, score SJP’s pre-stardom look with thick, oversized sweaters and high-waisted jeans. The awkwardness of our childhood is coming back in fashion, my friends, and there’s nothing that says Hollywood Project Type 1 like an undiscovered beauty.

Find oversized sweaters and high waisted jeans at Smarter.com.

And if you really love the cloak, treat yourself to this affordable adaptation:

                                                        poncho

                                                                                 $27.99 at Target

If you really are a misguided star, you should pair the poncho with a floor length hippie sweater and hiking boots, but we don’t suggest being that dedicated.
