    Fashion Royalty Dolls

    Fashion Royalty Dolls
If you thought that those creepy Bratz dolls were the height of fashion, check out the ultra-sophisticated Fashion Royalty dolls by Jason Wu. While his Ready to Wear collections (for real people) have been praised for their maturity and “immaculate tailoring,” I´m even more impressed by these amazing dolls with their impeccable couture ensembles–I´m talking hand-embroidering, silk gowns, designer handbags, and accessories that put Barbie´s plastic doodads to shame.

And even if you´re not into finely dressed dolls, you should visit the website just to read the hilarious story about the Fashion Royalty “universe.” The Ugly Betty-esque story centers around the backstabbing fashion and cosmetic worlds, where competing companies vie for dominance and the main players deal with cheating husbands, hostile takeovers and unethical business practices. You´ll love it.

    Tory Burch Contrast T Tote

Tory Burch Contrast T Tote, $243.75

I love the simplicity of these totes and the fact that they’re superb for summer–you can fit a sweater, sunscreen, a water bottle, and all the rest of your summer grub in one. The price is steep, of course, but the quality is good, and because the colors don’t scream “summer,” this tote will work throughout the year. It’s certainly something to consider. I’m considering it this very second.

    Paul Frank Sara S/S Sweater

Paul Frank Women's The Sara S/S Sweater, Sweaters
    Price=$48.00

Those that know me know there’s nothing I adore more than a sharp, striped sweater. Add a half sleeve and a v neck, and I’m sold. That’s why I’ve had my eye on this Paul Frank The Sara S/S Sweater for awhile. I love a thin cotton knit in summer as well as an unexpected color combo like this. To me, there’s nothing more sophisticated than a breezy sweater when the heat is on.

A week after inking a perfume licensing deal, Jimmy Choo has joined up with Safilo to create a luxury sunglasses line. The complete collection will be launched in 2008, and a prescription frame line will follow. The glasses will be sold at Jimmy Choo boutiques worldwide as well as exclusive department and optical stores.

Jimmy Choo fans everywhere shiver with delight.

    Shopbop’s Crazy Shoe Sale

So, normally I just put up one item for Deal of the Day, but the sale Shopbop has going on right now is so crazy good, I can’t contain myself. You lucky devils.

    Joie Heartbreak Platforms

These Joie Heartbreak Hotel Wedges steal my heart. Admittedly, I’m a platform devotee from way back, but these sweeties are extra special. First, the color is delish and, second, the platform is real wood. Old Price=$325, New Price=$162.50

    Goldenblue Caitlin Wedge

If you want a shoe that’s really popping at the moment, the Goldenblue Caitlin Wedge is it. The cuff makes it super current since everyone’s writing that the fetish look is the next big thing. Plus, this is a wedge, so it’s going to be so much more comfortable the bossy stilettos that’ll be everywhere soon enough. Old Price=$451, New Price= $315.70

Carmen Ho Hera Pump with Vamp Detail

These are the kind of shoes you’d spot brand new in a magic moment at a flea market. With your heart racing, you snatch them up, praying that they’re your size. If they are, you turn to the seller, faining nonchalance, and ask the price. The seller tells you some cheapo price, which you quickly pay, thinking about all the compliments and envy these amazingly perfect heels will spawn. If you don’t live in New York, you consider taking a trip there just to walk around in these Carmen Ho Hera Pumps. Or maybe that’s just what I’d do. Old Price=$492, New Price=$344.40.

Irregular Choice Bird of Paradise Shoes

    Irregular Choice Birds of Paradise

I can’t take credit for finding these myself. I actually had the pleasure of first seeing these Bird of Paradise heels by Irregular Choice on Fashion IQ and was compelled to pay it forward. These thingies fall under the category of stuff I hate so much I love. They’re hilarious–who would have thought of combining fringe, which is seldom seen on footwear, and a golden bird applique on the same shoe? What would you even wear these show stoppers with? Not that it would matter since nobody would be able to take their eyes off of these babies.

However, if you’re so inclined, they’re on sale (surprise, surprise) at Zappos.

Ashley Judd to Create Fashion Line

    Ashley Judd
Another day, another celebrity fashion designer. Ashley Judd just signed a deal with Goody’s to create her own fashion line. Like most of these lines, quality and luxury are promised along with femininity and attention to detail. Hmm…we’ll see about that. What is new about Judd’s line is that organic tees and sweaters will be offered. Well, that’s nice.

Now, I like Ashley Judd a lot, but my opinion on clothing collections of the celeb variety is well documented. And while I do have a little more faith in Ashley than say Jennifer Love Hewitt, I’m not holding my breath that this Goody’s line is going to charm me.

The line will debut in this fall.

The Lamb Zip Hoodie by Primp

Primp Women's The Lamb Zip Hoody, Sweatshirts
    Old Price=$140, New Price=$85.95

I’m usually not into animals, but The Lamb Zip Hoodie by Primp makes the grade with me. It’s cute here with jeans, but it would also work if you dressed it up with a pencil skirt. It’s $54 off the original price at Karmaloop LLC, so even better.

Sneak Peek of Lily Allen in Elle

Lily Allen looks so adorable in this spread for Elle (especially the black and white pic), which hits newstands tomorrow. With America Ferrera in W, Jennifer Hudson in Vogue and now Lily in Elle, it’s really great to see women with realistic bodies looking gorgeous in high-end fashion magazines.

Elle really hit the mark with the Lily-appropriate clothes. I’m happy they included the Betsey Johnson dress that I’ve been coveting (in the first photo below). It doesn’t come out until late July, so I have a month to decide whether I can part the $320 price tag. The plaid tweed coat in the same ensemble is Chanel, and it weighs in at around $5,000. Personally, I wouldn’t pay $500 for a coat without sleeves.

    Timmy Woods Handbags

While I don´t love everything from Timmy Woods (for instance, I don´t need a martini or lip shaped purse), I am partial to many of these hand-carved wooden bags. They`re a great alternative to the traditional clutch and would add originality to a nighttime look with their cute vintage quality.

P.S. They´re a little pricey ($200- $400), but some of them are on sale at shopnbc.com right now.
