How to Buy the Right Swimsuit
Swimsuit season is looming and, of course, most women are scared out of their wits. But before you start killing yourself on the treadmill, vowing to cut out all solid foods or talking nonsense about boycotting the season altogether, consider the fact that there is a swimsuit out there for everyone. Even those of us who eat.
That’s right, you too can be a bathing beauty… if you choose wisely. Many women think all suits are the same and that one is as good or as bad as any other, but it’s just not true. Looking sexy poolside is all just a matter of smoke and mirrors–you’ve got to play up the good and disguise the so-called “bad.”
More specifically, if you’re…
Small Busted: You can add volume to your upper half by wearing a top that has a little bit of interest. Ruffles, stripes, and eye-catching prints provide a 3D affect, making you look like you’re working with more than you actually are. You can also get away with a bandeau or triangle top (most people can’t!). Don’t wear a solid color or a cup with too much fabric as it will only emphasize the fact that you haven’t much to emphasize.
Big Busted: The key word for you is “structure.” Choose a halter top with a thick, contrasting band or a full cup with underwire–you need the support. Wide straps are also your friend as they hold you up and divert the eye. If you’re going for a bikini, you may want to wear a solid color top and a printed bottom to even things out. Don’t go for plunging necklines, tops held together by string, or anything itsy bitsy unless you trying to get scouted for Maxim.

The latest buzz in the fashion blog world is centered one major controversy: the emergence of high- waisted jeans, skirts and shorts. This style has recently been spotted on Geri Halliwell (of Spice Girls fame), Jessica Simpson, and Mischa Barton, and the reviews are mostly negative with many charging that the look is absolutely heinous.
