We have all heard "an apple a day keeps the doctor away," but what happens when we are tired of eating the same thing all the time? What else can we eat? It is important to eat healthy throughout the day; otherwise, we won't have the right amount of nutrition and energy. With our busy fabulous lives, and as little time we have, there should never be a reason to skip a meal. Our bodies need the nutrients in order to cope with stress and other elements that are harmful to our health. In order to keep our muscles working well and to promote radiant skin, we must choose a healthy balance of food to help protect our arteries and to keep our bodies going. What we consume as a meal affects the outer appearance over time. Keep healthy snacks and food around. Try to keep a balance of the following:

Complex Carbohydrates (promote healthy heart and digestive system): wholegrain, cereals, potatoes, pasta, root veggies and bananas

Vitamin B/Niacin (increases blood flow and helps keep rid of toxins): fish, liver, chicken, beef, peanuts, mushrooms, dates and seeds

Vitamin E (healthy skin): dairy, fish, nuts, leafy veggies, beans and seeds

Calcium (healthy bones): diary milk, yogurt and eggs

Magnesium (healthy organs): fish, meat, wholegrain, mushrooms, beans, and nuts

As you can see, most of these products are repeated for overall health. Take advantage and stock up on these healthy ingredients in your fridge or pantry.

My favorite snack would be yogurt parfaits, or a convenient snack like an apple or banana (which is high in fiber and vitamin C) with peanut butter (considered nuts). The tangy apple, and the texture of the banana mixed with chewy ooey-gooey peanut butter is delicious!
