Move over Gillette, because Schick has something to give you a run for your money! Just last week the brand unveiled the Schick Xtreme3 Eco, the first disposable razor to use 100% recycled plastic in the production of its handle and 100% post-consumer paper in its packaging.

Fittingly lightweight and green in color, the Xtreme3 Eco is manufactured and shipped out of the company’s 99.9% landfill-free facility in Milford, CT, and the brand estimates that their new design will help save over 103,000 pounds of virgin plastic material and 15,500 pounds of virgin paper from going into landfills each year by using recycled materials. I have to say I’m guilty of wasting a lot of plastic (I have yet to get a reusable water bottle/Brita filter…don’t hate me!), so I was glad to try out these new razors to feel like I was at least doing some good!

The razor is not only awesome in its design — among the items retrieved and recreated in the Eco razor handle are hangers, buckets, and pails — but I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing anything in the way of convenience or effectiveness when I opted for this over the four blade Gillette I was using before. The three-blade design is flexible and lined with Aloe and Vitamin E to minimize dryness/razor burn. Of course it would be more eco-friendly to opt for a reusable razor, but if you’re set on a disposable one this seems to be the best socially conscious one out there.

The razor is currently only available, for both men and women, at Wal-Mart stores but come April it will be more widely available.

Here’s a product that you really can’t live without. Skintimate Moisturizing shaving cream for dry skin the best shave gel on the market. What we want out of a shaving cream is something infused with as much moisture as possible so that we can slide our razor and get rid of stubborn, unwanted hair in one easy step. A lot of other shave creams get the job done, but leave your skin scratchy and completely dry. By using this moisturizing shaving cream made especially for dry skin, it’s kind of like shaving with lotion–minus the mess.

So, when you apply your usual moisturizer after you get out of the shower, you’re basically adding a second application of lotion–doubling the moisture on your legs.

What’s more, it is also infused with olive butter and soy. Both of these ingredients are particularly soothing and contain skin-preserving ingredients. This is really important. If your shaving cream does not contain these ingredients, you’re doing more harm than good to your legs. Other shaving creams can dehydrate your legs and cause unsightly ashy-ness. This is the first step towards healthy, hydrated legs.

Skintimate also carries a formula made especially for sensitive skin. If you find that you easily react to new products, go for the Skintimate extra gentle shaving cream.

The fastest, most efficient way of taking care of your eyebrows is by using the ancient method of threading. I’ve always found that tweezing never really gets every single unwanted eyebrow hair and waxing takes way too much time and money. The best thing about threading is that it’s practically pain-free! You can either go to a salon and get it done for roughly $5-$7 or you can even do it yourself! All you need is a mirror and a piece of thread.

If you learn to do it yourself, the convenience of threading is amazing. I always keep a spool of thread in my car so that if I’m waiting around in my car for whatever reason, I can just pull down the mirror of my car visor and start threading!

Threading was first developed in ancient India and spread through the east. Now, you’ll find many local salons have the option of threading, which is even more convenient because it takes only a couple of minutes when a professional threads.

If you’re doing it for the first time, then you may experience a little discomfort and the skin around your eyebrows may seem a little red–but don’t worry, that won’t last. It’s a good idea to moisturize before and after threading to keep your skin from being too irritated. Another huge benefit is that threading pulls the hair from it’s very root so hair won’t come back for a couple of weeks! It’s the best kept secret in hair removal.

Why would you want a vibrator that also serves as a triple blade razor!! UMMM – HELLO!!

That combination is the stuff of nightmares!! I am somewhat sleep deprived right now so maybe in my oxygen deprived brain I am NOT picking up on the concept of this thing?

Is it a razor or is it a vibrator? Or is it both?Â

It’s called the Tinge Razor ($ 125) and I believe the concept is to “publicly-hide” if you will your pleasure gizmos. Which is pretty cool in a James Bond sort of way but again I ask, “if it is a fully functional razor, why would I want that anywhere near my hoo-ha in any pleasurable capacity?”

I’m going to have to pass, no offense. I would rather have my mom discover my naughty drawer than run the risk of butchering my lotus flower.. just saying.

Check out the Tinge Razor for yourself, what do you think?
