Hey fashion mavens, are you ready for some fabulous blogger style?
Meet Diana. She’s the lovely and ever-chic blogger behind Dressed Up Alligators. When I first started blogging, DUA was one of the first sites to ever charm my socks off. And Diana’s sometimes quirky, always sophisticated and continuously evolving style still amazes me today. Some people just have an innate fashion sense. Diana is one of those people. So let’s check out a fantastic look of hers, OK? It’s time to work some winter white.
1. Off-white: small differences are key. Don’t be a slave to matching the right whites, keeping everything the same. Creme, eggshell, ivory and light gray all work to maintain the same effect, and you can wear the off-white colors best in the winter. Take a cue from Diana, whose whites are cohesive, but not too blindingly matchy.
2. Neutral colors pop against a blank canvas. Who needs major doses of brights in the winter when neutrals work so well? I love that Diana has kept it sophisticated by wearing black ankle boots and a gold clutch. The colors are low-key, but they still pop against the white background. Oh, yeah. And scream, “CHIC!” Love it.
3. Use your nail polish as an accessory. This winter (and for upcoming spring), it’s all about marvelous nail shades. Diana’s aqua blue is a cool quirk that adds major personality to her overall look. Along with aqua, I love violet, hot pink and orange nails. Have fun with nail polish, and work new hues into your look. It’s finger painting for adults!
4. Be subtly playful. Diana lifts this look from good to ah-mah-zing with the details. Loose waves keeps the tailored look from becoming too serious. Her pink pout adds some necessary color to the outfit. And lastly, the girl’s got on a super-cute pale lime-colored belt. (Which I am obsessed with and want to steal now.) These small, double-take details are what make an outfit. Add a few unexpected pieces into your look, and you’ll feel more like yourself. That’s how you develop real style, and real flair.
