Want to look chic this winter? Slip on a faux fur jacket (it’s such an easy way to dress up a drab outfit)! Considering that on most days I don’t even take off my coat when I’m inside, I love how fabulous these jackets look over almost every outfit. You can wear them over skinny jeans and boots, over a dress and tights, and even for work — if your work place isn’t too conservative — you can layer a fur coat over a button down blouse and slacks. I would avoid wearing bulky sweaters to keep the jacket as the bulk of your outfit but, other than that, anything goes, really!
1. DKNY Jeans Leopard Faux Fur Jacket – Love the shape and fit of this; great day- to night-time jacket.
2. MICHAEL Michael Kors Faux Cheetah Fur Jacket – This one may be more of a night time look, but it’s amazing and truly a stand-out piece.
3. Ruz Faux Fur Leopard Cape – I love capes! They are such a great alternative to big jackets and your arms are free to do whatever. I love how warm and cozy this one looks!
4. Tivonia Faux Fur Jacket – If you aren’t into animal prints, this is a great jacket to have. I love the addition of the belt, which helps give you some definition and shape (bulky winter coats can sometimes make us look boxy).
If you don’t want the look of a full faux fur coat, there are still some great alternatives. Here are two of my favorites:
Tinley Road Toggle Coat – Love the color of this coat. Sometimes you have to break out of the traditional black and I think cream is such a great color to wear in the winter. The addition of the fur-lined hood is fantastic, because it will keep you warm even on the coldest of days.
Sabine Mongolian Fur Vest – And, of course, I couldn’t go through a fur post without including a vest! I have found that faux fur vests are so versatile and they truly do keep you very warm! I was wary about them at first, thinking, “But my arms will be cold,” which may be true but, at the end of the day, I notice that I stay at a perfect temperature throughout the day without having to take the vest off and on like I would with a coat.
