Channel 70′s Glam with Topshop’s Smoke & Mirrors Collection

When it comes to high-value makeup, Topshop is pretty impossible to beat. They only launched their cosmetic range about a year ago, but have become so popular that I can barely keep track of all their new buys! Their latest limited-edition collection is called Smoke & Mirrors, inspired by 1970s glamour. What I love about the collection is that it’s not all about the usual super dark lips and jewel-toned eyes we get this time of year from most brands. In fact, the 11-piece collection is all about soft lip shades and healthy-looking, glowing skin.

The limited edition lipstick shades come in soft dusty rose and baby pink shades ($18 each) and they’ve got a fantastic new product called Glow ($19) that works in tandem (or as an alternative) with your highlighting powder. Just tab a little bit of the cream over your blush and voila! Glowing skin!

They’ve also got two eye pencils priced at $20 for the set — which is a price that’s pretty hard to beat, especially since their coverage lasted me through the day — and they come in two staple colors: black and nude. I used the black on both my upper and lower lash lines along with a mix of charcoal and dark blue eye shades (this isn’t the one I used, but Topshop’s collection has a palette that fits the bill), then I worked in a smidgen of nude liner over the black liner on my top lash lines to soften the look.

Also, if you’re looking for some inspiration on more ways to apply the finds in the collection, Topshop has a virtual makeover application that’s pretty cool; just upload a photo of yourself without any makeup and see how you’d look all made-up! They’ve also got a variety of makeup tutorials on their website. Now, on another note, word has it that Mary Katrantzou‘s new collection for Topshop launches in February…can’t wait!

I think that those make-up would fit to my girlfriend. I really love those colors. I think that I should buy some for her.
