What’s better for Blogger Tuesday than a smile? I know a girl who can plaster silly grins to all of our tired faces.
Meet Sabrina. The sassy, classy, fabulous blogger behind Sabrina Says. When I saw this fantastic photo of her bending trend rules, wearing black and following one of yours truly’s favorite style guidelines (uh, “belt it,” DUH), I knew I had to introduce her to you, readers.
Don’t let her total elegance in this picture fool you, though–and I mean that in the best way! She’s a lot of fun, too, which is why you’ll love her blog so much. This lovely lady is not only fashion-savvy, but she can help lend a much-needed dose of laughter. So hit up Sabrina Says ASAP after we’re finished over here. But first, today’s style lesson. Four reasons I am head-over-heels for this outfit:
Black and brown, y’all. Just because Sabrina’s in all black doesn’t mean she can’t opt for brown shoes… and she does! We’ve talked about breaking the age-old style rule about not wearing black and brown together continuously now. See how great it works? Just make sure the brown is light enough, as shown, as to not look like you thought your shoes were black. Eeek!
She belted… in a cool way! Love belts on anything. But here’s something to keep in mind: If you’re wearing your blazer or cardigan open, you can totally belt underneath your cover-up. Don’t feel you need to belt over top every single time. The key is to break things up and define a waist. You can do that either way, so mix it up!
Take dresses from summer to fall; add a blazer. Don’t think you need to buy a slew of new dresses with long sleeves to be prepared for cooler weather. You can take summer essentials into fall and winter by adding a blazer, tights, leggings, long-sleeved tees, cardigans and a host of other layers. For the most streamlined and sleek elegance, take a page out of Sabrina’s book and definitely opt in on that blazer.
Elegance? You can secure it with great hair. Soft curls are the most sophisticated way to go: don’t they just scream old-Hollywood glam? Grab Sabrina’s amazing hair with hot rollers or a 1-inch barrel curling iron, and get insta-confidence to match your ever-chic look.

The tip about bringing warmer weather dresses into fall is fantastic! I am loving tights and boots, and adding a blazer or sweater to some of my more summer friendly looks has been a major help.
I still don’t know if I’m ready for black and brown although Sabrina does it well : )
