Transition Your Makeup with These Fall Beauty Picks

For me, transitioning into fall doesn’t just mean pulling out boots and sweaters. It also means changing up my makeup, by putting away my brighter, more “fun” summer colors and switching to deeper jewel tones to go along with my fall wardrobe.  I always feel like you can go a bit more extreme with your makeup; red lips, winged eyeliner and dark nails are all great for fall.  Here’s what I’ve picked up this season to transition into fall:

During the summer, I mostly wore light or bright pink on my lips, so I’m loving the change to the darker pinks and nude lip colors.  I rarely go dark on my nails during the summer, as I love painting them brightly — even neons, which are so fun — but for fall, I really love the look of dark polishes, especially blues and grays. One quick tip: Make sure to keep your nails short when you do a dark polish, otherwise it may look too dark. ;)

So how about you?  Do you change up your makeup colors for the fall as well?  What are your favorite products?

  1. Great post! And I admit it, I really enjoy black nail polish, yes I said black for the fall and winter. Dark purple lipstick too I love and start using it as soon as the leaves begin to turn orange and fall off :)
