Happy Blogger Tuesday, loves! With September a mere two days away, I’m already falling in love with the fall season, and I can tell today’s style subject, Kristin from Crimson Rosella, is ready for Fashion’s New Year, as well.
Kristin’s style is just as charming as she is, and her blog is a must-read for outfit inspiration. She mixes stores like H&M, Forever 21 and Zara with thrift finds–she’s truly a gal after my own heart! And she’ll steal your stylish heart too, so head over to her blog and make friends. Right after we discuss why Kristin’s outfit works so well for early autumn, of course.
Pick up a chambray shirt. I can’t hide my obsession with chambray shirts–I have three, and those babies are worn out! They’re the perfect early-fall item because they’re not heavy, but will protect you from the teensy bit of coolness and wind you might experience early in the season. Kirstin picked up this piece from Forever 21 and I’ve gotten one from H&M this season, so you should be able to nab one just about anywhere. They’re a key piece of the season!
Burnt orange is a must-have color! Matching those pretty fall leaves, autumn demands a festive color palette. So, pick up a piece in burnt orange. Kirstin’s simple chambray serves as a great background to show off her cute sailor short bottoms. Another quick-tip: Bottoms that taper in slightly create flattering lines, so keep that in mind when picking out functional shorts. Plus, how cute is the vintage vibe?!
Dark sunglasses add insta-chic. I’ve recently had to adopt a more low-key wardrobe, and I’ve found when you have to keep accessories minimal dark sunglasses are a must. Choose a wayfarer, aviator or oversize frame for major extra-envy. You don’t even need anything else! (It’s okay to have those days where accessories seem like too much work…)
Get bitten lips! If you’re not head-over-heels for the red lips and mahogany pouts this season, then get a sweet, just-bitten pink like Kirstin’s. It provides just enough color and interest without going over-the-top.
My theory on Kristin’s perfect waves… I love waves for fall. While my wardrobe is getting more sophisticated, I like to keep a hint of effortless, warm-weather style still around. Maybe I just want to preserve summer, but I think they work so well. Waves and soft curls strike the perfect balance between summer’s ease and winter’s severity.
OK, now. You’re free to go visit Kirstin at Crimson Rosella! And of course, have a fabulous Tuesday.
