Oribe is one of the most well known celebrity and fashion hairstylists in the world. He’s worked with countless A-listers and models including Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, and Christy Turlington, and his work has appeared everywhere from Vogue and Elle, to Allure, W, V and Pop. With Labor Day Weekend just around the corner, we asked Oribe to dish out some advice for keeping hair looking its best when traveling, and he told us that he’s “a big believer in looking good when you’re flying”. So who better to get expert tips from?
“I’m old school,” says Oribe “I always wear a jacket when I fly. I like to feel luxurious when I fly, so I recommend dressing up and making sure your hair looks great because it makes the experience so much more glamorous. When you look good, you feel better and you never know who you’re going to sit next to!”
The night before you fly, Oribe recommends using a hydrating masque — like his Signature Moisture Mask — to add moisture to hair, since the airplane can be drying. Further, Oribe says, “If your hair is clean and freshly done, you’re not going to wake up with it looking like a mess. If your hair is long, during the flight, twist it up into a bun, so when you land and take it down, you’ll have beautiful waves.”
When it comes to treating your mane post-flight, the hair pro recommends brushing your hair, spraying his Dry Texturizing Purse Spray in the roots, and pushing your hair around to add volume at the crown.
So there you have it ladies, all you need is a good hair brush and a little texturizing spray and you’ll arrive looking gorgeous!
