Happy Friday, lovely readers! Before you’re all off to enjoy wonderful weekends, let’s talk about some daring fashion and beauty, shall we? Don’t worry, I’m not talkin’ Gaga daring. But chic, sophisticated and confident daring is worth a mention, right?
There are a few great trends out there right now that take an extra dose of style prowess to pull off and I want to know if any of you are feeling bold enough to try these looks on for size:
The pixie cut. Emma Watson, Michelle Williams, Carey Mulligan and Ashlee Simpson have all rocked the pixie cut with confidence, but would you? I think a pixie is the only hairstyle I’ve never tried. I’ve had an asymmetrical bob, long waves, short-n-choppy cuts… I’ve done it all… except the pixie. I’d love to try it one day, too. But I just don’t know if I’m ready to lose that much hair just yet!
Monochromatic color. I’m not talking black and white… I’m talking head-to-toe in bold red, extreme green or vivid blue. What do y’all think? I’ve done the head-t0-toe in a similar palette, but I’ve never played it strictly monochromatic outside the neutral hues. Maybe it’ll be a late-summer or fall goal…
Cut-out swimwear. It’s almost the end of summer! Are your still wearing a boring ol’ bikini or something of the like? Well, maybe you should consider some cut-out swimwear to finish off the season right. Cut-outs are a huge trend right now, so wearing a dress or top with the detailing would also be plenty daring, but I think swimwear is a cool way to work the look.
Extreme lip color. It’s been bold in recent seasons… crimson red, deep plum, rich mahogany, bubble-gum pink. These lip colors are not for the faint of heart! But I do love that they can easily express your mood. If you’re feeling extra confident? It’s red all the way. If you’re feeling playful? Opt for pink. Wanna amp up the drama? Time for some plum. All pretty, but definitely bold!
