1. Color infusion. A couple of colors in your look will go a long way. If you’re not super into multiple hues, then just choose one or two like Lynzy’s done here. And don’t worry about being “matchy”. Be complementary. Sunny yellow shoes and a bright-coral top provide a pretty contrast.
2. Mismatched pieces. And mismatched is a good thing! I love how Lynzy blends together a polished button-down with frayed cut-offs, a sleek structured bag with a pair of too-cool wayfarers. Perfect!
3. Right amount of skin. Lynzy must know about the 40 percent rule, because she’s got it just right with this look. If you’re planning to show off your gorgeous gams, then keep it mostly covered on top. If you’re planning on going strapless with a cocktail dress then extend the hem. You should be showing off just about 40 percent of your skin at any given time.
4. Fun accessories. You can go in many different directions with your accessories – and get away with a lot. Lynzy obvioulsy likes to play with her extras, and you can too. Try things like: a summer scarf, in a lightweight fabric and cool print; a structured bag that’s small but sleek; a vest, to break up the colors in your look; a turquoise cocktail ring for a little extra flash and, of course, some great sunglasses!
