Happy Monday, dear readers! After a week-long hiatus in the Caribbean, I am glad to be back to talk fashion with you all. During my travels, I noticed that many of the gals I came across kept their travel style relaxed, eclectic and bohemian. Tribal prints, warm colors, untamed locks and earthy jewelry to be exact. Which makes me think, why not glitz it up a bit? I will admit that hot and humid temperatures beg for minimalistic fashion, but that doesn’t mean we must forgo the glitz and glamour of fashion. So how about adding some shimmer to your summer wardrobe? Here are my favorite ways for jazzing things up this summer:
Sparkly Dress. Have you seen the July cover of Glamour? The gorgeous Blake Lively is rocking a fabulous sparkly off-the-shoulder frock. Sparkly dresses aren’t just for the holidays anymore, ladies. But in order to stay in tune with the warm weather season, choose a breezy, mini dress with a simple design and just the perfect amount of pizzaz to glam it up.
Glittery Shorts. You cannot possibly go throughout the summer without a few pairs of shorts, my friends. And while denim cutoffs are standard, and bold colors and prints are in vogue this season, there’s no better way to add a touch of shine to your outfit than with some cute glittery shorts. These were a hit for fall and winter, but with a scoop tank and summer booties, you can dust off your shimmer shorts for a fresh summer look.
Bling Accessories. As I mentioned already, summer calls upon earthy and eclectic vibes when it comes to fashion and accessories, but I think you can glitz things up and take a fresh spin on summer style with a little bit of sparkly accessories. Add some luminescence to your getup with some sparkly earrings, a blinding cocktail ring or glittering hair accessories. And, of course, you can never go wrong with a pair of rhinestone accented sunglasses!
Shimmery Makeup. It’s been a season of bold colors and neon brights from eyeshadow to nail polish, but if you’re looking for something more subtle and sweet, get your summer beauty going with some shimmery shadows, glosses and nail polish. My favorite shimmery summer look is a subtle frosty eyeshadow with black mascara and sheer lip gloss – so fresh!
