I love shoes. (I know, I know. Shocking.) And I’d be willing to venture a guess that y’all probably like your shoes, as well. If not, then go ahead and click away now, because this post is going to be heavy on the shoe adoration. (You were warned.) Let’s proceed.
As the seasons change, so do our kicks; you certainly weren’t planning on wearing your winter boots during these warm summer days, were you? Exactly. But no worries, I’ve compiled a list of the shoes you should be rocking right now and all throughout the summer. From summer-friendly boots to body-slimming heels (seriously!), you can’t go wrong with this “It” list of shoes.
1. Summer Booties. Just because the weather’s only getting warmer and the days of winter chill have become a distant memory by this point, there’s no reason why you can’t rock a cute pair of summer booties. Open-toe, cut-out and slingback booties are perfect for summer!
2. Sleek flip-flops. I know some super-strict fashionistas consider flips-flops a major faux pas, but I love mine. And I think thin sandals with skinny straps are cute and comfortable, and a summertime essential. Break the rules, people. Never give up your flip-flops!
3. Bright wedges. Wedges are like the cross between a sexy heel and comfy sandal: they’re flirty shoes! I couldn’t live without my deep yellow wedges, which add a pop of color to the blandest of outfits. Plus, they’re way easier to wear than stilettos. Win!
4. Canvas Espadrilles. A springtime favorite, espadrilles are essential for a couple of reasons. One, they’re comfortable. Two, you can wear them if the weather’s iffy and it might rain. Three, they’re cozy enough for chilly weather and cool enough for warm weather, so basically, they rock.
5. Nude heels. Nude heels make the list for one reason: They make you look thinner! How so, you say? Well, they make your legs appear longer, your body leaner and force your back straight and tall. It’s like an instant five pounds just drop off. I know: AMAZING.
Honorable mention: Tennis shoes! I never wear them out, but exercise is essential, my dears. So, of course, I do own a pair. You should, too!
