Styling Tips: Dressing Up a Summer Dress

I practically live in dresses all summer long and, when I’m on vacation, it’s super easy for me to pack because I just toss in a few summer dresses and sandals and I’m good to go!  However, as easy as it is to throw on a dress and go, I still love to find other ways to style them and “dress” them up a little more.  One of my favorite ways to spruce up a summer dress is by adding a nice, lightweight blazer.  I love white blazers any time of the year, but in the summer, they add the perfect touch to my summer dresses.

Another style I’ve tried with the dress you see above is wearing a vest over it. The vest is a great work piece worn over a button down, but when added to a floral dress, it just gives the dress a bit more depth and personality. Plus, it’s a great option for warmer days!

There are so many things that you can add that will give new life to your usual dresses.  You could tie a scarf around your neck, add a belt, use the scarf as a belt, etc… It’s easy to slip on a dress, but it’s more fun to play around with styling them!
