Runways were littered with punk-rock pieces for the spring season. Designers like Acne, Balmain and Balenciaga were all about the grunge look–motorcycle jackets, bleached fabrics, combat boots, and graffiti prints. For the wild child (or the wannabe wild child!) there was a whole lot to love. Just take one piece and work it into your look for a little bit of rebel edge. Here, I highlight a few key must-haves for the season. Choose one, choose them all, but have fun with your look, lovelies. Here’s how to do it:
#1: I love the studding on this leather jacket. It pumps up the volume on a classic look! Pair the jacket with a pair of skinny jeans, or a prairie skirt for a play on hard and soft.
#2: Graffiti pants are the cool-kid look of the season. The best way to wear them is with a simple white tee. Add in a pair of aviator shades which are easy and edgy. And feel free to rock these with look number three…
#3: Combat or lace-up boots are one of my closet essentials. Where them with skinny jeans, wear them with floral skirts, wear them with leggings… you have so many options. Forget about these kicks having any sort of style guidelines, because you can literally wear them with anything. I do!
#4: As you transition into summer, grab a jean vest with a washed-out finish. I like pairing my vest with a breezy skirt for a pretty daytime look, or a pair of dark jeggings or leggings for a low-key, errand-running style. A conductor cap will finish your outfit, then just add some cool sunglasses.
#5: Finally, the fedora. I recently got a li’l obsessed with hats, and fedoras are at the top of my favorites list. From straw caps to this gray, banded style, feel free to pick up several and wear them with anything… especially when you’re trying to salvage a bad-hair day. (Hats are small miracles in my life!)
