Keratin Complex Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder

I’m usually grossed out by dry shampoo. I mean, why? It’s kind of like how I don’t understand why people used antibacterial gel when they could just wash their hands. A recent trip to California, however — where I was staying in an apartment so small that the toilet touched the bathroom door on one side, the shower on the other and nearly the sink in the front — showed me that there are some occasions where washing your hair on a daily basis isn’t as appealing as you’d like it to be. I figured there was no better time to try out one of the dry shampoos I had been hearing so much about, so I gave Keratin Complex Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder a whirl.

First of all, it’s super practical for travel. It’s such a hassle for me to pack for short trips, because I have so many bath, body and makeup products that I use on a daily basis. Not only do I worry about adhering to TSA requirements so that I don’t need to check my luggage, but also, spillage is a major concern. With this dry shampoo, though, neither is an issue, and it even comes with a convenient built-in brush (way better than other dry shampoos that dispense their powder through holes).

You dab the powder onto your hairline and scalp, and it gives your hair a little volumizing pick-me-up, along with a light lemon scent. It’s not like washing your hair — obviously — but it did prevent my hair from getting that flat, greasy look after I skipped my usual wash. I can also see it being useful when I go to the gym in the morning and have a few errands to run before I can make it back home to wash my hair. (There’s nothing worse than going grocery shopping or stopping by the post office feeling like a smelly mess!)

Have you ever used a dry shampoo?
