Prints are back in a big way for the coming season. Without a doubt, this is one of my absolute favorite trends. And guess what? It’s one of those looks where you can show off your confidence with the clothes — which is always a bonus! I mean, in case you actually needed an excuse to strut your style stuff…
But while I love a bold print, you have to know how to play it down a little bit. When bold turns too loud, you’re dabbling in dangerous fashion territory, lovelies. Good thing we have the fail-safe plan to avoid that snafu courtesy of today’s fabulous style subject!
This girl is rocking a bold print on that mini-frock and has managed to walk the line of chic style. It’s a pretty look totally worth emulating, and I’m going to show you how… with one quick tweak.
Love: The dress. This is a great print, absolutely perfect for the coming season. Spring is ushering back in ’70s style in its patterns, and this psychedelic look is a great play on that trend.
Love: The belt. It’s a peacock feather! I love that the subtle blue plays off the navy in the blazer and ties the look together while avoiding the matchy-matchy effect. Amazing accent choice.
Love: The blazer. With today’s blazer talk being all about the boyfriend style, we sometimes forget that there is another chic style — a cropped cut. This navy, subdued printed cover-up complements the bolder pattern on the dress. Total DO.
Love: The boots. The obvious choice would have been a knee-length riding boot, but I love that she chose this ankle bootie style to show a little leg. But as you may know, I love all boots. So this was an easy win in my book.
Love: The hair. Done-up locks would have ruined the effortless aura of this outfit, so don’t be afraid to embrace your natural texture. Apply in a little body-building mousse and let your strands air dry. Then, shake it out and work that mane like our style subject. Hair flip, anyone?
Fix: The hem-length. My one complaint with this look is the hem length of the dress… it’s a bit scandalous! I love a flash of leg, especially when covered up on top, but make sure the end of your skirt hits at least mid-thigh. Fix that, and this look is a complete on trend to fashion victory!
